Default I quit, f**k this!!! Lol.

Ok so I quit working at my club this weekend after 3 months, and it was on good terms with the manager. I've seen girls storm out the door swearing and couldn't come back to work. The money was slow, it was too close to where I live and attend school, the staff wasn't that great, the club needs a lot of repairs (refurnished, new pole on the main stage, etc), and a few other reasons. I just got stressed up and fed up with it all, and decided to leave and just focus on school (just wanted to make extra money). I'm thinking of maybe going to a club in a big city during the weekends every now and then...

One thing that really irritated me was past guys in my life would come in and talk shit, tip all the girls BUT me, or flirt with the new girls. When the occassional random customer or dancer would be rude, it didn't really bother me like them because we never had a personal relationship. It really was affecting my performance and money. The other girls weren't real catty...I liked them. No one wanted me to leave, but I wasn't happy no more.

So I want to hear about some of your stories about quitting. What were some of the worst reasons you quit (dealing with management, drama, etc)???

Drama. I just quit my club of 3 years last night. Too many big egos and the girls are cut-throat. I was accused of kissing a customer and had water thrown on me by a girl who gets shit faced every night, fucks customers and begs me for rides to work. I don't have to kiss some fucking creeper to make money. Yuck! Its been confirmed by video that i didnt. I then told everyone to fuck off and I left. Im starting at the biggest competitors club tomorrow. I hate haters. Lol

The drama we have to deal with sucks! The girls and customers are brutal.

I left my old club for basically the same reasons as you, Jessica. The money got really slow, the club really needed a pick-me-up, and it was too close to where everyone I knew lived and my old school. I was sick of seeing coworkers from my other job coming in and started to get paranoid about my old boss or professors coming in. But mostly, the money and the townie customers. It physically made me ill to think about going in and working until 3am with only "club regulars" who never buy dances sitting there and then only walking out with 50-60 bucks... I just couldn't do it anymore. Shortly after I left, they got new poles and added a VIP room, which they hadn't had before... freaking of course - it's the same for years but right after I'm gone... lol

I too am about to go audition in a bigger club in the city a ways away from mine. I'm hoping to not run into too many people I know and to make way more money. Plus, these clubs will be full of more travelers and not basically depend on townies. I deal much better with fresh faces than regulars - I always have. I think that's the sort of environment I really need to be in.
Don't try to win over the haters. You are not the Jerk Whisperer.

Yeah bigger cities that are especially tourist attractions are way better. I use to be miserable too. It's bad when you're a stripper at a club and leave with less than you would working a mininum wage job. I had too many days like that as well.

I posted it here- Re: Best Times of Year - Australia
Threadjack- Left dreams in melbourne on friday night (after 3 years).
The owner came in with his girlfriend and he started calling girls down to the office and fining them.
The fine I recieved was for performing an unauthorised double on stage.
I told him I wouldn't flout his rules and didn't know it wasn't allowed (because it happens if not every night then every week). He said it was raised in the meeting. I said that I would like to see the minutes from the meeting beacuse I couldn't recall it being raised (it wasn't).
He then said- "Well I'm going to make an example of you anyway".
    .......What?!
I said to him after 3 years of working together surely he could give me a verbal warning/have a face to face convo to comminuicate his displeasure. rather than fining me for a made up on the spot rule.

So I got wasted, had a bit of a cry, crawled around on top of the bar singing "Blaze of Glory", then Quit.

I've never had fiery exits-- I have walked out before when the manager texted me that there were tons of custies and not very many girls, and showed up to find that there were more women than customers-- so I walked back out and didn't go back.

Things go in cycles-- I haven't yet wanted to burn a bridge. I think the only time I might have done that was when a bachelor party company tried to tell me to collect the money for a two girl show and tell the guys that the second girl would show up after I left. I put the company on hold, told them the shifty shit that they just told me, and told them to cancel and I'd call a girl down (I was an hour away from home) to come dance.

Since the company was telling the custy "oh, the girl's coming soon, but she'll show up after your first dancer leaves" they followed my advice and we had a great party.

I never worked for that company again-- not because they thought I was being shifty or stealing business, but because I didn't like a company that would put me in a potentially dangerous position.

The worst reason I quit: I worked for an excort agency once because my friend told me I should try it with her. I have nothing against escorts, first of all, but I had no idea what they actually did so I was kindof in for a suprise. I had signed this contract that went into detail about how we weren't allowed to have sex with clients and I actually believed that we were expected to abide by the contract, lol. Dealing with clients who were frustrated and sometimes even violent at my unwillingness to have sex was one thing but I called it quits after my driver looked over at me one night and asks 'so....how much do you charge??'

I have a great deal of respect for girls in that industry but at the time I was quite naive and just wayyyy in over my head.

I quit one club because it was too cold. I srsly said, "Eff this. There's no reason for it to be THIS cold." I calmly walked upstairs to the DR, got dressed, tipped out the DJ and left.

I quit one club after 2 weeks of working there&& BANKING, because the manager's frind came in and tried to rape me in the CR . I go out and complain to the manager-- me being new to the club, I didnt know he was a friend of the manager[which is why he did that shit!!!! ] so I walk out of Champange cryin and I go to the manager, with my RIPPED THONG in hand he's right behind me yelling stuff like "This bitch took my money and didnt satisfy your customer" "She lied, she didnt take care of me in there!!" "Wtf kinda cockteases you got here" I told the manager I took my money up front, he tried to force himself on top of me, stick his nasty ass finger in my mouth--- among other places, so yes, I ran the fuck outta there. (They didnt have bouncers, just the managers,a door girl to come check&& the waitresses.) He tells everything is okay...I can go get dressed and go home. I clearly had a bad night. I do so. GO BACK the next day-- and he's like " Sooo... that customer is my best friend, I been knowing him for 20+ years, and you made a scene. You need to give me that money you STOLE from him. I KNOW you'll make it this shift. "

I was LIVID. Said fuck you, a few other choice words, and told him I had a friend who would be back to handle him. Took my ass to work at a club, not a brothel...and thats that. We put up with enough from custies, I will not have a spineless manager who turns a blind eye. IDGAF.

I did quit clubs and just never returned. That seemed to be my attitude to deal with it. The last club I danced at was an exception. I kept getting tired of the cheapasses coming in and not spending a dime. They would sit at the stage and often not tip and would bring in their drinks as well and this was a free club. Everyday I would leave pissed because of them and this was after years of dancing. In addition the club started requiring more and more, such as making us do free bachelor party shows on stage and selling their merchandise while we didn't get a dime.

The club would be packed but none of the dancers were making money. I would literally go on stage to a packed crowd and not one would tip. A few guys would tease me with money and not tip. So because I wasn't making money I didn't take my top off. The manager called me into the office and screamed at me, calling me a bitch and lots of nasty names. I had been considering quitting anyway but this pushed me over the edge and I told him I quit, went in the dressing room to get dressed and grab my stuff and walked out the door. I later found out the club was busted years later for prostitution. None of the dancers I knew stayed there and because they were cheapass customers the good looking dancers left only to be replaced by scuzzy dancers who were also hookers.

I considered this before...when my club's heater system was messed up for a few weeks.

I had a similar experience at a club here. I was working there for almost a year and was already frustrated with the amount of extras that were being done up in the vip and bouncers wouldnt do anything. Nor would the cops. They came in regularly (talk about a blind eye). Thry HAVE to be paying someone off.

anyway, one night i was dancing on stage. We're required to dance on a 5th stage after, which is located upstairs in the vip area. Well one of the owners ( I believe now) began shouting something at me. I couldnt understand him, but i knew he certainly wasnt saying nice things. I told him he couldnt talk to me that way, he isnt my boss. The bouncer said he actually was, and with that the owner shoved the hell out of me, towards the stairs.

You bet your ass I got all my shit and left. Came home and just cried. Turns out my actual manager, told the DJ/bouncers/mngmnt in their meeting that i was not allowed back until further notice. aka fired.

    Fuck Dreams.

MsChaos that sounds awful. Was he saying something sexual or just plain mean? I don't blame you I would have left too and him shoving you that makes it assault.

I agree Kelly! Usually someone who will eventually turn physically abusive, they show ahead of time through being verbally abusive. That's sad @MsChaos.

I finally quit my home club after dancing there for 3 years. The money pretty much dried up there for clean dancers. I got really annoyed with customers trying to grope me for a dollar, poor management and keeping girls who really should have been let go a long time ago for breaking most of the rules. On top of that charging exhorbitant fees for anything and everything. I basically grabbed the schedule and scratched myself out of the line up.

Well my club is strict with the the no extras. Now if a girl wants to let a guy smack her ass or rub her tits, that's on her (in privates, but it's not allowed. However in my club there was no real money, there was racism, girls were breaking rules and one of the DJ didn't hardly play music the dancers liked, some of the staff sucked, and bullshit fees. I worked for one month and was sick and called in...and the stupid new manager still tried to charge me (they could have let it slide). Also there was drama.

One new DJ kept fucking up the rotation. He skipped me on several occasions and people would think I'm overreacting when I was pissed ( you could see it all in my face and body language). To me that is BAD. That one fuck up can make me lose money that the next girl (who isn't even suppose to be on stage) gets. I was not a diva, but the order is important to me.

My only real "fuck you" story:

After a year of working at this club, and doing pretty well for both myself and the club selling lots of VIPs and dances that they got cuts of all of, I got into a screaming fight with the owner because I took a break on the floor after just making more money for the club than anyone else had that night. The floor had an available couch, the DR had none, and I had a headache. After being told to go find a customer to talk to (there were none) or get dressed and go home, I got dressed (I even paid housefee and the DJ first).

As I was getting my shoes on, the manager brings me into the office, where the owner starts yelling at me for being lazy and a tattletale (I thought they wanted to run a clean club, so I had been mentioning it to managers when I saw serious extras happening), and asked me sarcastically if I knew of any other clubs that appreciated the way I was acting. As it happened, I was already working at another club that loved my high sales and didn't mind me taking a break, and I said as much, and as I added, "and I'll be heading back there for good," the owner talked over me to say, "well go work there, then!"

So it was really a "you can't fire me, I quit!" scenario, and I laughed about it for days afterward.

SMH he shouldn't have been so petty, him or his staff. Deep down he probably regrets losing one of the top earners and hardest working girls.

The floor had an available couch, the DR had none, and I had a headache. After being told to go find a customer to talk to (there were none) or get dressed and go home, I got dressed (I even paid housefee and the DJ first).
Isn't it weird/BS that it seems like the hardest worker is always the one getting shit the second they take the smallest break? I feel like I've had this BS at every job I've worked. I recall one night when I was the only one in my store moving non-stop the entire shift, stocking. The other 3 guys I was working with were goofing off the entire time. Once we closed, I went to our deli to shut it down, and helped myself to a bit of leftover pretzel. The second I did that, my bitch-tastic supervisor walked over and said "Hey, you think once you're done eating, you could get back to work?" Excuse me, ho? Fuck you! I have millions of these scenarios from many jobs - I watch the others slack off the entire time and I do all the work so that anything actually gets done. I go to reward myself with a moment of rest and I get snapped at, when the person who was just strolling around all night never has a word spoken to them.... I don't understand this at all.

    Anyway, /rant
