yah on the pole it's easy! You can even be a few centimeters off your split and still fake itthere's a little video of how o do it here: http://poledancedictionary.com/moves/319/front-splits/
Haven't tried on the ceiling yet!

I wanna do those two moves sooooo bad but I haven't gotten there yet.![]()

do you still recommend the valentino brother's combo DVDs? i am not flexible AT ALL; never have been. even though i am on an indefinite retirement (lol), i'd still like to get back into pole dancing and eventually get the splits. since i don't have a pole yet, i figured i can work on my flexibility in the mean time.
has anyone else tried the DVDs?

They're pretty intense so if you're really REALLY stiff you can just do stretches to work your way up. If you refer to my original post there's information on how to stretch properly that way you don't have to shell out for DVDs
It just takes dedication and persistence so I like the DVDs because it motivates you to do the whole routine instead of just 5-10 mins then giving up
Really? Even though it says beginner? I'm the type of person that needs to have something to follow along. I tried stretching on my own and I just gave up. I don't think I knew what I was doing anyway and I need to be shown stuff. I don't mind buying the DVDs if they are actually effective.

Hey Amareth; Which ones did you buy http://store.valentinobrothers.com/ ?

This is the Valentino Brothers package I have - http://store.valentinobrothers.com/s...level-package/
A friend of mine who is super flexy has a 15 minute routine she does twice a day and by request from a lot of girls she taped it and put it on youtube here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jTeMipgqH1k&feature=plcp
Just make sure you're working on strength as well, you don't want to overstretch your muscles and hurt yourself.

Oh man, I'd forgotten about this thread! My splits progress has slowed down so much since I last posted here, stoopid hip flexors being all messed upI had to get dry needling in my knee to gain on my side split because that was the only place I could feel that stretch and after months I figured "this isn't right" and got it worked on. Listen to your body!
Back and front bending has improved though!
Anyone else here made any progress?

^ When they put the needle in it rushes blood to the muscle which helps it release. Combined with massage it's helped me with a lot of problems.
