    Skull Smoking

I was an avid non-smoker for most of my life until about 2 1/2 years ago, when one thing led to another and I bought my first pack. I was able to quit for 3 months after food poisoning nausea aversively conditioned the smell of tobacco on my bf's breath for me, but I have failed at quitting since then.

Any tips/tricks? I remember when I started to smoke I first noticed that after a heavy smoke night I'd get these fine reddish lines where my nasal labial fold are, but now they're pretty much permanent. I need to save my skin, health, and money.

Anyone who also needs to quit should join in! I'll start by listing some triggers:

    1. Social smoking (bf smoking in my car, waiting outside with friends, etc)
    2. Stress smoking (anxiety, work esp)
    3. Boredom smoking (when drinking, long car rides, lulls at work)

p.s. also wanted to add I make less $$ than I did before. My hair only got longer and I didn't gain any weight... I remember when customers used to bitch to me about how nasty cigbreath was on the other girls, and how it was great I didn't smoke etc. No more

^So true. I'm a former chain smoker and now I've managed to replace my cigarette addiction with an e-cigarette addiction, lol. It tastes much better, and I love that I no longer 'smell' of cigarettes. Make sure to do some online investigation or ask others about their e-cig preference. There are some excellent dvices out there but there are also alot of bullcrap models that overheat, are difficult to 'pull' from, etc.

Ditto on the e-cig, it's a life saver. I duck into the dressing room when I need a break, fix makeup etc and don't have to deal with all the customers out back smoking.

I've been using the Smoore M401 model for a while now -- it's about the same size as a regular cigarette, though a bit heavier. I've been happy with it. Joytech makes a 510 model that's really popular, too, but it's a little too harsh for me. Try googling e-cigarette forum; you'll find a ton of info on there.

    Good luck!

I've tried greensmoke and it has a nice pull. No. 7 seems to be quite popular and is much more subtle than greensmoke. My favorite e-ciggy of all has been a Korean brand called the Rebacco Queen collection and it's flavors. So smooth and subtle and a few drops of flavors would last me at least two days. Like the complete ditz I am, I lost it and vowed never to return to that store so now I am stuck with an eGo-T. I don't like the way it pulls, nod do I like the vapor it produces BUT it doesn't use a cartridge so it is literally a one time purchase. There seem to be thousands of brands to chose from^^ Whenever I have any questions about anything e-cigarette related I go here. This is their review section:

    Happy hunting!

Sort of a thread jack, but I've never smoked tobacco. In Cali it has been a law that it is not allowed in any building or establishment whether it's a super-market or a club.

I'm allergic to tobacco smoke. I've been getting over this cold/flu thing since Nov. 4th. I go to work in this club last night. The owner smokes in his office, which is bad enough, but my cough got triggered because I could totally smell it! It turns out there is a dancer who smokes in the really TINY dr!! She's really nice and put her cig out right away when I told her about my allergy. But I woke up twice last night coughing and I'm still doing it!

Sorry about the thread jack, but that might be another reason to quit.

Cold turkey. I quit after 10 years and trying EVERYTHING! You have to break the habit and the addiction. Cut back every day until your smoking less than a cigarette. Your still getting your "fix" so you'll still be addicted but the habit is broken. Then QUIT entirely. It will take a solid two weeks to detox but then you will feel AMAZING.

The thing with patches and e cigs is it doesn't break the habit and it keeps the drugs your addicted to in your system so it defeats your purpose.

You want to quit for all the right reasons and it sounds like you really really want to so I think you can do it. Everyone I've talked to that has stayed quit did it cold turkey. GOOD LUCK!!

Bikram yoga. I was never a hardcore smoker (just when I drank) but was smoking 1-3 a day, everyday (I know, sounds like nothing but for me it's a lot!) a year and a half ago when I was under a lot of stress and feeling hopeless.

I signed up for a 7 day Bikram trial and went every day, totally detoxed everything out and never craved them again. When I did finally have one months later I took a drag and was like yuck...

Now I go to Bikram anywhere from twice a week to sometimes just once every other week but for awhile I was hardcore and did 3-6 days a week because I loved it so much.

I know a few people who have been hardcore smokers and drinkers who were able to stop with Bikram. It's addicting in it's own way, you get high off exercise endorphins, etc...
