Default Tips on achieving a warmer tan effect with lighting

My complexion is naturally a nice olive color but with the lighting in my room It makes me look white as a sheet on cam. What kind of bulbs/lights do you use to give yourself a nice golden glow? When I worked at a studio they used grip lights which are very affordable and they made me look great but I 'm not sure what kind of bulbs I'd get to achieve the same effect. Any advice would be sooo appreciated! Thank you!

To look warmer, use warm colored bulbs. The more pink it is, the warmer you'll look.

To look cooler, use cool colored bulbs. The more blue it is, the cooler you;ll look.

^^ I second this. Doesn't even have to be fully colored bulbs, if you really want to get different effects, try full or partial spectrum bulbs.

Luckily, I rock the pale skinned redhead, so I WANT my lights to make me look white...nicole kidman in moulin rouge is the aim for me!

    +1 on pink-hued light bulbs. =)

I just change the color settings on my webcam. Turn up the color settings to vivid or more reds. Easy peasy.

Just a different, random idea: I once bought a chartruese bikini, it's a yellowish green..can be a brighter neon also, sounds ugly, but it's not, & makes the whitest skin look tan

I just change the settings on my webcam. You'll look like you have a nice tan but sometimes it makes everything darker. I'd be wearing hot pink and people in my room would tell me I look good in red. So try not to make it too dark.

Thank you all. I look like a million times better on cam today, and don't resemble Morticia.
