I am hearing if they sign up on p411 or date-check it does the verification of them on there.

Date-check does not verify, anyone can sign up. P411 only. Verifies that they are who. They say they are, not thay are safe to see. I had a solid rule of never seeing anyone that was new. This was b/c all the new people I tried to see would either blow me off or be REALLY weird/uncomfortable. I wouldn't do it, a few hundred is not worth risking your safety imho, but I'm the paraniod type

Eros gets me a lot of first timers/travelers without references also
Try finding a local forum or board (a quality one) they are usually great with references

Date-check does verify to an extent. I was a member but let it lapse. For newbies they do work place verification. Guys can also get in by getting a referral by a verified escort Date-check member. They encourage the girls to give out referrals for free 6 month trial memberships to their clients. So in those cases Date-Check is relying on the escorts to make good referrals. I always felt that was a weak spot in their system since it only took ONE referral for a guy to get a free trial membership. Preferred411 will also take references in lieu of employment info but they require 2 provider references and its a much more personalized check by their staff instead of the automated system used by Date-Check.
Preferred411, Date-Check, and Roomservice2000 have all had accounts compromised by LE. The cases I've heard about have all been where a guy has turned over access to his account after either getting busted or having a change of heart about the hobby.
As far as the original question, I could see using their work email as part of a screening process but I would think you'd really need more. Also remember that email addresses can be spoofed so their needs to be some sort of actual information exchange through that work email to verify it and you need to double check the address that your reply is going to.
Most of the clients who find me on Eros aren't newbies, so I'm not sure why you're getting so many? Have you considered that they are lying about being newbies?
Do you have on your ad that you are new? If so, don't do that! It's like putting a target on yourself for clients to take advantage of you.
Ask for screening information (full name/email/phone number) from all clients via email. If they don't have refs, either employment verify them (but be very careful - LE can use cover jobs) or just don't see them. There are lots of ways to screen men without refs, but I can't type all the info here. It's a learning process. You may want to just see those who have refs from well-known ladies at first. Don't be too hungry for $$$. Desperation leads to not screening thoroughly & unwise decisions... which can lead to jail, beaten, robbed, dead...
Having the guys get verified through P411 or DC can be helpful too, but you'll need to get on those sites yourself too for it to be really useful.
Don't email with anyone regarding escorting thru a military email. Those emails are monitored, as are most work emails. Some guys use work emails anyway, but it's not very smart for them to do.
I will work-verify if the client is google-able, if he confirms he is who he says he is by PM'ing me on a review forum, and if he tells me whom I should say is calling so I can actually SPEAK with him at his work. I love newbies because they are often more loyal than asshole-review-y types.
In addition, I use verifyhim.com, it's a subscription (WORTH IT) service that gives me all sorts of information on him, including incidents with his phone # prefix, blacklist matches, if he's used his handle anywhere else, etc. It does give every member about 10 or so verifications before you have to actually pay for it.

Keep in mind many guys will never use date-check, P411, etc. due to the risk of 'security breaches', like what happened to AIM - the medical records company for the porn industry that was hacked. Porn stars were then google-able, had stalkers calling them AND their mothers... bad scene.
Verify yourself, personally, not with a form. If your gut says don't see them, don't. Better to be safe.
