    Default Mystic/spray tan

I normally use self tanners and with swimming and tanning naturally in the summer it all kinda evens out. However I'll be going to vegas in March and it won't be warm at all here yet. I don't want to indoor tan. I don't really have the time to go there every day and self tanners I can't get my back really good and theres so much room for error when I'm white as can be. Was thinking about getting spray tan or Mystic tan. I remember back in high school (2004) some girls got Mystic for prom and such and it was TERRIBLE. orange streaky and dark palms and feet....Have they improved it over the yrs? Should I go to a professional that hand sprays it instead? I fake it everyday with tinted lotions but I don't want to have to apply everyday and if we go swimming worry about it washing off...

    Thanks!

    Thumbs up Re: Mystic/spray tan

Ok, I haven't yet tried this, but a lady on here told me about it http://www.southseasskincare.com/Sou...-Body-Care.asp
She uses the professional sprayer like they use in salons, she goe to ppl's homes, etc.
You can buy it in a can also, it says wholesale, but you can still buy it. I've contacted the site w/?'s, & they were very cool, got back to me immediately. The lady who told me about it swears by the stuff. I am going to try it, just haven't gotten around to it yet.
    Good luck & have fun!

If you can find a salon around you that offers "Versaspa" go with that. Its like Mystic but it won't streak and you won't turn orange. Also, you are sprayed with a burst of warm air to dry you off at the end.

I airbrush the day before work trips. It works well for me since I only work like 7 days a month but if you are working all the time you could do vesa spa my gf soes this and the color comes out good but you need to go like three times to get as dark as one airbrush tan. Sallys has a nice spray in a can, body drench, excellent color but it is hard to get your back unless you tan in bed too(then you don't have to worry about that) also banana boat makes a decent airbrush one that's easier to get your back.

I use mystic tans every week. The difference between mystic and versa is mystic give more of a golden color and the versa gives more of a brown. The versa takes more sessions to get really dark and wears off in less time than the mystic. The first time I tried mystic I did get REALLY dark but now they have a new formula so its not orange at all and they have different shades. I usually go with 2 mediums to get the color I want. It comes out more even if you shower and exfoliate before hand, dont put on any lotion, and then leave it on for an entire night.

I actually DO airbrush tanning for people with a HVLP system (handheld). The problem with going to salons for Mystic or Versa is that there are a number of different solutions you can use in those machines and salon owners often do. So when someone tells you the difference is colour, well any salon can be using a different solution in their machine. The difference is the METHOD which it is sprayed. With Mystic your front and back are sprayed. With Versa you do a number of positions to make sure you are sprayed evenly. I never had a problem using Mystic, it always seemed to cover evenly and the same with Versa. I found I didn't get as dark with Versa and looked more pixelated but I maybe I should have stood a touch closer.

When you see girls looking streaky after a Mystic/Versa that is because they either didn't prep properly or they may have gotten wet/sweated afterwards.

Why not do a trial run first? Go in and try it first (they usually have discounted early days of the week since most girls want them for the weekend).

A lot of tanning salons might also offer airbush/HVLP where you are personally sprayed by a tech. That usually works out well since you get a lot more personal attention to detail and control over colour.

Spray tanning has come a long way, you should be fine either way. Just follow prep and after care instructions perfectly. Good luck!

I will definetly be doing some trial runs in the next few months. I have never tried self-tanner on my natural state of ghostly white before. I'll be the only girl lookin like snooki in ohio haha.

I have good experiences with Mystic, just remember to moisturize and don't go too dark (if it's possible to choose the shade). I find Mystic lasts quite well on my skin, up to 8-10 days unlike some other fake tanners!
