I charge a lil extra for bathtub shows, due to the extra set-up work that's required. I place my laptop on a fairly tall wide chair several feet away from the tub, and cover the keyboard and the bottom of the screen with a towel. I place my cam on another chair, on top of a box, and tape it down with masking tape, just in case. It looks like crap, but I can't be bothered to purchase a tripod, and the guys don't see it anyway
I also keep a towel by the tub, and dry my hands well before touching the keyboard or computer.
I can usually see the customer type well enough to interact, but when I can't, it doesn't really matter. I treat bathtub shows as a novelty to mix things up a lil...I do my thang and they're fun, but if a guy wants total interaction and attention, he can wait until I'm back on dry land- I'm not gonna risk fucking up my computer for anything
Tub shows do seem to go over hella well though, so I do find them worth doing
peace and $$$

I've done one or two - usually I will only do them if I am coming to the end of a shift, and I'll mention that I am going to go run a hot bath, and then sometimes someone will pipe up asking if I want to do that as a show in pvt. I'll agree to it, and say that I am pausing my stuff to set up. Then when I am back in live chat, we go pvt, and voila!
All I do is set up the computer a couple feet away on a chair, and then put the cam elsewhere so the angle is better and the cam is further away. Then I keep a towel on the floor, and if I need to touch the computer, I just dry my hands off first. I can still see the screen, and my interaction is all verbal anyway, so I've never had a problem.
One little tip - you can dry your hands all you want, but if you are leaning DOWN to type/touch the computer, water will run down your arms onto your hands and onto your equipment. Make sure you are reaching UP to touch stuff!

I'm always afraid someone is going to electrocute themselves doing those!
If you are submerged in water and you touch electronics, even with dry fingers, it's pretty risky, isn't it?

Nah - you would actually have to touch a live wire or similar to actually do yourself harm - plastic is an insulator, so touching the plastic of the computer won't hurt you even if you are soaking wet! Really - the only damage that you will do is to your computer if water gets into the circuits....and most computers are pretty splash-proof these days. Unless you drop the whole thing in the bath with you, both you and it should be fine! (though with that in mind - make sure your computer is secure on its stand/chair/whatever, ditto with cam, and make sure that they are not above you in such a way that it would be possible to fall into the tub if they DID get knocked down. The zoom function is a bathgirl's friend!!)

^^^ A little more on that - the reason that you are always warned about using electronics etc in the bath is that water is a conductor - and if the entire thing gets dropped in, the water will conduct electricity and shock the crap outta you. BUT in order for this to happen, you do need the water to be exposed to a live circuit, which is usually buried inside the machines.
Its like touching one of those fancy coffee machines with wet hands after washing dishes - won't hurt you unless you fill the sink, stick a hand in, and then drop the entire machine (plugged in to the wall) in there too. The casing protects both you and the machine from small drips.
So rest at ease! It'd be pretty hard to electrocute yourself by touching a computer with a dry hand while in the tub. : )

I think it would have to be plugged into an outlet for that to happen though. Would a laptop running on battery power do that?

I've done shower shows, just throw a towel over the keyboard, and keep one handy to dry off with.
Also a tip - don't use super hot water or your cam will steam up. I use like luke warm.

I keep the bathroom door open for steam, put my webcam on a $15 tripod, and my laptop on the toilet. I tell everyone that I will not PM during a show, and that I'm going to do my thing and if they want my attention they can tip me and I'll look at the laptop when the tipping noise sounds. I do keep a washcloth in reaching distance to dry my hands if I really need to touch my laptop, but generally they expect me to talk back all of my responses, because I say that's what I'm going to do.
Edit: I also narrate my entire bath. "Now I'm going to wash my hair. Now I'm going to shave my legs. Now I'm going to blow bubbles from my bubble wand."

There is a reason it's illegal to have power sockets in bathrooms, and it's not to make people's lives more difficult. I worry even having my dehumidifier plugged into the mains and situated in my bathroom ---- What's wrong with using the laptops battery power ? Granted they're about the first thing to crap out on a laptop - but for the sake of a few extra quid, I'd suggest buying/using the batteries power instead of a mains connection while you're in the bath .
Don't fry !

Not illegal in the US - but its not because of the type of outlet - it is because of the AMOUNT of power that is running. Y'know how you have that little switch on haridryers so that when you are travelling, you have to turn it to more or less voltage so that it doesn't fry? That's because different countries run different amounts of power. It is WAAY less than in the UK.
In either case, you would still have to touch an exposed wire or live circuit to have a problem....
