    Default New pole moves?

Hey ladies...I'm self taught on the pole and need to find some new, exciting moves. So here's what I have so far:
    I've mastered:
    basic spins
    basic climb
    basic upside down hang

    With ease, I can do:
    Basic invert
    Gemini
    head stand
    Jade split from head stand
    Fairy spin/angel spin
    Sunwheels to open fireman

With moderate difficulty, I can do:
    Archer/bow and arrow
Split fall (or whatever when you drop into the splits)

If I'm feeling ballsy, I can manage:
    Aysha
    Jade split
    Other moves with no legs

It's hard for me to know what my body is ready for. Most of my strength is by far in my legs, but I'm definitely starting to build a lot of middle/upper body strength. I also do not kick up when doing the invert; I can use my abs to pull myself up.

If you could post some youtube links or even name off some moves so I can look them up, that would be awesome.

Moves you should be able to do/start working on:
    Shoulder mount
    Cross knee release/cross ankle release
Scorpio (then learn to switch between Gemini and Scorpio)

Do you do your Aysha with your body right against the pole or with some distance? If the former then work on Caterpillar climbing the pole and doing the Aysha when you're in the pushed up part of the caterpillar.

Teddy (hurts to armpits a lot to start)
    Flag
You should already be able to do a hip hold
If you don't have to kick to invert you should be able to invert from up the pole

How do you do a jade split from headstand? Trying to picture it

Have to lean reaaaallly close to the pole to pull off Aysha.

Not even sure how to begin explaining a jade split from a head stand.

Ok, one more. Cross knee release and cross ankle release are both very easy for me.

I'll be trying the teddy at work tomorrow.

here's a way better resource than the one posted above. The other one has the "wrong" names lined up with the images and this one has videos:

now that I'm on my computer and not my phone, if you can do cross ankle release you can try grabbing the pole behind then your body down so only your ankle is hooking then release your legs to look like this:

You can also headstand up and grab the pole in cross ankle then pull yourself up. YouTube clips I've watched a lot and learnt from:
    Alethea Austin - Bleeding Me
    Alethea - Fine Again
    Alethea - Lollipop
    Sarah Cretul
    Felix Cane 2006
    Felix Cane 2008
    Leigh Ann

All these ladies are pretty advanced but I used to watch these clips over and over to study a certain move and eventually get it.
Also if you search Studio Soiree they have some good mini tutorials.

you can also find great lessons on StudioVeena.com

lessons are 100$/year (best deal) or less than that per month. I highly recommend the community. I have learned a lot of moves just by watching other people.

^Agreed!Though I don't take any of her web-classes myself I completely appreciate the way she breaks stuff down. There are some really amazing dancers in that community, too. A few of them are capable of outshining Felix Cane on a bad day--lol.

yeah. I just learned a new move today based on something that a girl posted in one of her videos. It's going to take some practice and I can't really get it on my SS pole (too slippery). When I tried it, it hurt my nipple a lot.

it's in member videos, November Perfromance Head Over heels by Dakota Fox about 3:20 in where she spins around the pole into inverted v.

I've heard so many good things about Studio Veena lately, may have to look into a subscription when my foot's healed.

well you can sign up and watch member videos and post on the forums and stuff. I really like seeing women of all sizes, ages and walks of life being able to do things that I can't. I WILL GET THE SHOULDER MOUNT ONE DAY! especially if the 49 year old woman with like, three kids and grandkids can do it.

So I was flipping through this dictionary, and this is the most awesome thing I've ever seen.

Well, not quite THE most awesome, but it's up there lol

What scares me is how easy these girls make the moves look. For me, only a small portion of my progress is learning new moves. The rest is making the ones I already know look fluid and natural. No one likes watching my face turn red and my muscles tremble as I'm struggling to pull something off. Also, I'm working on transitioning...knowing tons of easier moves and how to link them together into a badass routine is so much more impressive than busting out the one advanced move you spent 6 months learning. (like my run-on sentence?)

@Sadie You'll get it, took me about 3 weeks of just doing little kicks and holding them as long as possible before I could actually invert from it, have you got hickey bruises from it yet? lol

Also practicing it while laying down is a really safe way to condition from it, it's way harder from there but builds up the muscles you need.

BTW I just posted a thread offering free pole lessons on skype if anyone is interested.

The 13 year old girl down the street came over and discovered my pole. SHE GETS ON THIS THING AND BUSTS OUT MOVES IT TOOK ME FOREVER TO LEARN! Shit pisses me off. Also, hey mom, thanks for NOT putting me in gymnastics/cheerleading/ballet. I played stupid lacrosse instead and now I'm just too damn butch to look graceful and sexy. But, I'm a boss at taping down my tits and looking like an angry lesbian....awesome.

We were just talking about the teddy, and no, I haven't tried it before...but I'm thinking I could do it. I haven't tried the box split either.

And that drop would be absolutely shit-myself terrifying!

Drops are great for getting attention! My fave (and least scary to learn) is the sad girl drop http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wDhwXYBErjg looks great on a really tall pole when you drop 8 feet and stop 2 inches from the floor
