I personally have not tried chantix however I know lots of people who have. The census is that it is not a miracle product and will not "make you" stop smoking however can help and has been very effective to some of the ppl I have talked to. It does have side effects that you need to read up on. It is expensive, make sure you utilize coupons. Hopefully your Dr gave you some. You can find some online as well. It is not covered by insurance (which I think is crap.. if they want to penalize you for smoking why not help you stop?!). The fact that it is expensive and is a RX item I think helps its effectiveness. You don't want to waste the money you spent on it by smoking again and it takes effort to obtain. For the record I was a pharmacy tech for 5 yrs so I heard about it from patients. Now I am a nurse.

The main thing I've heard about it is that it can give you terrible, horrible bad dreams. Like night-terror style. My best friend tried it and had to give it up because of the dreams, and she's no kind of sissy. Haven't met anyone who stayed on it longer than a couple weeks because of this.

taking chantix remains one of the worst decisions i've ever made and that's saying a lot. it literally made me out of my fucking mind for the period of time that i was on it.
