A lot of us have been having issues with sm lately. A lot of camera freezing and reconnection errors. But I think I figured out that my issue isn't the fault of SM. I think SM disconnects you when the connection isnt strong enough. But I noticed a pattern last night and wanted to tell you ladies so maybe you could help me figure out what to do.
I have 2 laptops.
Both laptops are crap and I'm working on getting a new one.
Laptop #1:
HP Dv6 Pavilion
Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU T6600
Windows 7
*This is my main computer used for webcam. It is the most powerful computer of the two. However, the lcd screen is cracked and I have to connect it to an hdmi cable and have it feed from a large flat screen tv. Which I love using my tv to cam cause its so much easier.
However, lately, when I use this laptop for camming, it seems I have 10 minutes before the cam starts to freeze up. After about 10 minutes, everything freezes up. But it only has problems when I use SM or the encoder. If I use any other cam chat source, it does not have any problems.
Laptop #2:
Hp Pavilion
AMD Turion(tm) II P540 Dual-Core Processor
Windows 7
This laptop isn't as powerful and it has overheating problems. I do not use this laptop for work because the hdmi port no longer works and the screen is really small.
I tried to use this laptop as backup but it always overheats 5 minutes into each private.
However, it does NOT have any sort of streaming problems and i have no issue using this laptop as it doesn;t freeze at all. If only it didn't overheat each time I got into private. But the other laptop freezes up Every time I get into private.
Knowing these patterns, is there anything I should try? I think the problem may be in the encoder and the logitech software. If you've read my thread recently about my logitech cam, maybe that's connected? I tried redownloading the software.
I also just upgraded to the fastest internet speed possible.
Did a virus scan and I'm virus free.
