Just drink diet sodas. There's claims floating around about how the artificial sweeteners in diet sodas slow your metabolism so it's actually making you fatter than regular soda, so that may be where these people were coming from when they told you that all soda is bad. But these studies are very flawed and I have little doubt that it's just an urban legend. 0 calories and 0 sugar is 0 calories and 0 sugar, and will always be better than the calories and sugar in regular soda.
I think the number one thing I've cut down on that's helped me lose weight is alcohol. Not only do most alcoholic drinks have much more calories than a can of soda, but alcohol makes you all bloaty.
And up your exercise. Honestly, I've done little in the past 2 weeks besides do some sort of workout 6 days a week, up my protein, and cut my alcohol back to 3-4 drinks per week. I can't believe how much more toned and flat my abs are just in this short period of time. And that's while still drinking a fair amount of diet soda.![]()

I'm not sure that I lose more weight when I cut out diet sodas as well, but I definitely have a better looking stomach when I do and my skin improves a lot too. But if you're hooked on sodas, then diet is definitely a better bet than the regulars because of the sugar in regular cokes.
I second knocking out the booze when you're trying to lose weight. And I love pasta too, but try to limit your intake and prepare it with healthier choices.

Not regular soda!!!! Omg that stuff is diet kryptonite! It literally scares me to imagine pouring sugar down my throat like that!
3500cals=1lb. So if you cut out 500 a day you'll lose a lb. a week! Good luck babe!
Also diet mountain dew is really good too, especially the diet code red yum!![]()

Diet soda or crystal light energy. It has a lot of caffeine in it and there are several flavors- I like grape and strawberry, the grape tastes like koolaid. You can water it down as much as you want.
I used to drink A LOT of regular coke, now I'm just addicted to crystal light. I did lose about 15 pounds when I quit drinking soda and redbull. It will pay off eventually.
I don't have one specific workout plan, but I have a bunch of videos (mostly ones I downloaded from exercisetv), and I've created certain guidelines for putting them together. Like, Mon/Wed/Fri, I do cardio (some sort of interval training cardio), and then yoga. If I have any motivation and energy left, I use it for practicing on my pole a little. Tues/Thurs/Sat, I have videos for upper body, abs, and lower body, and then I run through a 5-10 minute yoga sequence to cool down. I'm trying to change up the videos I use from week to week so I don't get bored and my body doesn't get stagnant.
If you want an idea of what I do, go to exercisetv.tv and look up workout videos by Cindy Whitmarsh and then find the Yogaworks videos. This week, I'm using Cindy's Fat Burn video as my cardio interval training, and her Strong and Sexy Upper Body for arms, Six Pack Ab Calorie Burn for abs, and 10 minute Buns and Thighs for lower body (she has a more intense lower body workout than that, but that's the only part of my body I don't really need to stress to see results, so I use a lower intensity workout for it). Then I use Yogaworks' beginners video for my yoga. It's a little slow-paced but it goes through a lot of moves that I then draw from when I'm cooling down on my strength training days.
Basically, I'm finding I'm having more success sticking to the workouts and getting results when I find 20-30 minute interval cardio workouts that I do 3 times a week, 3 ~10-15 minute videos for each section of the body for strength training 3 days a week, and an easy stretching video that I can either do a little or a lot of to work on my flexibility. It never seems too long to fit in or too difficult to get through. I'm having a lot more success this time around than I ever did trying to force myself to do 45-60 minutes of cardio every day and 30 minutes on each section of the body for strength training every other day... it just gets to be too much and I give up. The baby steps might not be as intense, but they're actually getting me to my goal because I can stick to them and do them consistently.

I am a regular and diet soda addict. I LOVE the taste. Anything else just doesn't do it for me.
But I had to give it up, cold-turkey, after I went to a dentist. Despite religious brushing, flossing, regular dentist appointments, in 6 months my teeth had gone from perfect to so bad that I needed 2 root canals and 6 cavities. The total bill was well into the thousands.
My dentist told me if I want to keep the rest of the teeth I have, and not need a root canal for each one, I need to stay away from soda of any kind.
It has been horrible, but I've done it, and the weight is (coincidentally) melting off.
I know this isn't what you were looking for, but quitting soda just for weight loss wasn't enough motivation for me. Realizing I could have horrendous teeth was.

I know it sounds weird, but I think the best diet sodas are the no name brand types from places like Path Mark. They don't have that sugar free aftertaste I hate.. it's just not sweet. But it tastes good! Try it!
Well, I'm going to be one of those people who says that cutting soda will help you lose weight. There's very little actual sugar in it anyway. Just HFCS. That will mess you up because it throws off your insulin levels which can make you overeat when you finally crash. There's also the acid which messes with the PH of your body, the fact that it's full of useless calories, etc.
I wouldn't quit cold turkey if you're still looking into taking that route. People forget that caffeine is a drug and that you can become addicted to it and experience withdrawal symptoms when that craving is denied.
Also addicted to energy drinks, know that my body would be much happier and leaner without them, too stubborn in my youth to give a damn just yet. I know that my mother and grandmother used to suck down Pepsi like there was no tomorrow and since they stopped that, with no other changes to their daily routine, they've lost weight and their blood sugar levels have been better (they're both diabetics).

3 cokes in one day! Wowza! That's a lot. I drank 1 a day for years - probably 15 years. When I stopped I lost about 7lbs without changing anything else. I still have 1 occasionally but only if im wrking out a lot or sometimes at wrk if I get lightheaded.
Why not drink coffee/tea for the caffeine?
All sodas are bad. The regular sodas are empty calories and the diet sodas contain a chemical sweetner that can not only cause cancer, but the sweetner triggers your body into storing fat. If you quit drinking all sodas not only will you see a major boost in weight loss but your overall health will benifit greatly. Drink green tea or coffee if you musr have caffine. Also you should really take into consideration what you are putting your heart through. By drinking the amount of caffine you listed you may well be causing heart problems.
On Top.
