    Default Products for hair growth?

The last time I cut my hair, I only went to shoulder length, because I can't stand my hair any shorter than that (and don't even really like that). But I've been wanting to start highlights and was told that in order to do that, I'd have to cut it to bob length. I resisted for a few months, but finally today, went and was like "just cut it off so I can get the highlights."

I don't know why I do this to myself when I know I hate how I look with short hair. WHY!? lol Anyway, as you can guess, I hate it.... the highlights didn't even turn out that good.

But there's nothing I can do now but wait it out. Is there anything to help speed up hair growth? Isn't fish oil supposed to help with that?? Anything else?

Scalp massages stimulate the hair follicle, therefore encourage hair growth. I usually do it when I'm watching TV or a movie. I try to massage once a day, and at least twice a week using either olive or coconut oil. Check this out. I swear by this stuff...

I'm confused why you were told in order to do highlights, that you must cut your hair to bob length. Is your hair in very damaged condition up till that length or something?

^^ Yes, I originally had bleached it blonde for 2 years (by myself) and had damaged it. I had it professionally taken to red, but when I got sick of that and wanted to try going back to blonde (professionally this time), my hair had only grown out healthily to just below my ears. The rest was too damaged from the previous bleachings.

Amino acid complex! I've had pretty good hair growth with that. I think Whole Foods has an AA complex with MSM too. I used to take it after a work-out and felt awesomely healthy and had beautiful fast-growing hair! I also tried the castor oil thing, but that was an enormous hassle, and after three weeks of sleeping with it almost every night, I noticed no difference in length, but the hair itself felt healthier. I've tried all sorts of hair growth products, and so far the best products I've found are... wigs :-P

That's so funny...I went from bleached blonde, to red, to back to blonde again. It took me over a year to get all the layers of red out (probably had it highlighted 7 times all over throughout) , and I had to keep cutting my hair because it got so bad. It's a total bitch, huh? I will NEVER go to red again, haha.

Lots of girls I know have good things to say about Biotin. However they all said you have to take it for 2-3 months before you see results. I'd like to try it too however I am not always good about remembering to take pills everyday.

Sadly I've found as I am getting older my hair is growing slower and slower . Mine isn't too damaged but I do dye it and blow dry it twice a week so it will never be as healthy as virgin hair that doesn't get heat styled. I am having a really hard time getting it to be bra strap length again which is my goal.

There's a Chinese herbal shampoo, I don't use it on a reg. basis cause it's a bit too clarifying/drying (my hair's fragile too) but it's supposed to help hair growth. It is minty, and scalp stimulating. lamasbeauty.com. Also, there's a shampoo from spacenk.com (love that site) called 3 more inches, not kidding. I have it, but haven't used it yet. Just got my highlights done, so I'm going more with color preserving shampoos, etc.
I wish you'd let me know. The lady I went to on a recommendation was awesome
also, naturessunshine.com, I used to take these herbal pill supplements for hair growth, now those I can say worked! I can't think of the name of 'em offhand, I have a bottle around here, I will put the name in when I find it. I think you could buy 'em at heath stores also

prenatal vitamins work great for hair and nail growth.

Biotin is great, but beware people who are break-out prone. I normally don't have any blemishes, but I can break out easily if something triggers it. I had read hundred of raving reviews on it, and the only people who gave it negative were the ones who broke out from it. I decided to try it out anyway to be hopeful, and I was a pizza face within the next week. My friend is a hairstylist and uses it with great results. Very unfortunate .

The best ways to stimulate hair growth come from the inside out. Start with a healthy diet high in protein and plenty of exercise to get the blood circulating. A good multivatmin or one specifically for hair, skin, and nails (I take FutureBiotics or Country Life Maxi Hair) will help greatly as well.

If you're looking for a topical growth aid to give you a boost, try out Ovation Cell Therapy or MegaTek.. or you can make your own.

I vote Biotin as well. I take women's daily multi-vitamins with lots of Biotin already in them. I haven't had any issues with my skin breaking out!
