HELL YES! But ONLY if you plan on chatting briefly and spending money on the girl you are approaching. This is a job and we get EXTREMELY IRRITATED with guys who talk but not spend, or try to get or #s.

How to handle the number situation-

If it's some crappy PL who only wants in your panties, charge $1 per digit (including area code) and give them the club number. If it's a decent paying customer that you think you can get more out of, increase price to whatever you think is appropriate for your real number, preferably to a second prepaid phone.
Exotic dancing is like any other job.
If you work in an office, you wear dress shoes and a suit.
If you work in a restaraunt, you wear skid resistant shoes and a uniform.
If you work in a strip club, you wear 7" stilettos and lycra g-strings.

We WANT you to approach us!! Ahh, miss the old days, when we didn't have to approach the guys, but maybe it's just me (old school). Just PLEASE don't approach the dancer by grabbing her ass, or with 1$, asking her when her shift is over, or when you can take her out.

    @OP

To answer your question...yes. Although keep in mind it's always the dancer's prerogative on who they choose to dance for. There can be a 1,001 reasons they might not be interested. You might be politely let down, get the runaround, or even completely blown off. Take it in stride, brush it off & KIM...don't be a dick about. I say this not to deter you but make it known there is no guarantee things will fall in your favor. There are WAY too many variables & very few absolutes involved for there to be science to it.

From a customer's perspective which I think is universal:
    Be respectful
    Tip often
    Have fun

If all 3 can't be done simultaneously, then wherever you are probably isn't the best place for you to be.

If I zero in on a dancer that has the right moves and the right look (for me at least) then I will take a deep breath and approach her. So far, this has worked only 50 percent of the time, as far as getting them back to my table after the initial approach.

I understand where your coming from, the dancers here have all kinds of intiative, but in the club I've seen girls that are super hot, but the way they act you wonder how the hell they eat. I remember one time I wanted this smoking hot dancer so I go into the area hoping she'll get the hint. Nope. So I tell her "you got a great set of tits". She says thank like I held the door open for her and turns back around. Too sublte I guess so I tell her that I want a lapdance, but I have a few questions first. Now she gets it. Hot Quebec Viatnamese girl, one of the hottest lapdances I've ever had. I had to approach Nova too, and Nova gave me the hottest lapdance I've ever had. The girl was the Mozart of dirty talk and the way she used to my federa was brillant, so yeah approach, you never know when you'll strike a hidden gem.

No, she's telling you that this would be the reaction of most dancers and, IMHO, she's right. They hear stuff like that all the time, usually from guys who are less sophisticated and have much hot air to blow, but little green.

My statement wasnt to combat her reaction, but the scope in which it seemingly covered. If it was more clearly stated : in my club, in my experience, everyone in worked with, i would take no issue. But to speak for who one have never met or heard of or club one has never been.

I hear what you're saying. Obviously she cannot speak to how every single dancer working in every club in the country would react, but I do not think she was trying to. She was giving you a consensus viewpoint. IMHO, she is right on the money in terms of how most dancers would react and you'd probably get a similar reaction if you polled each dancer on here individually.

Anyway, it's up to you how much further you want to take this, but IMHO she gave you a very good answer and I'm not sure how much more upside there is in nitpicking her response.

I was approached by a customer last night, as I was making my way to the bar, with a "how is your night going?" Completely out of nowhere and unexpected. I told him thank you for asking and let him know I was great. It's a breath of fresh air when a dancer gets stopped by a customer since we're the ones going around approaching customers hours on end.

And, as for stopping and asking us for a dance, that's basically like a freebie - yes, please!

Just like boundary questions, like wear is it okay to touch, is it okay if we talked dirty, stuff like that. Contacts levels varies between dancers and I don't like going in just guessing what's she's okay with. Even amoung dancers the allow contact, they may have unique preferences. If I know everyone has a better time.

Ugh, I hate "boundary questions". To me, it almost feels like being on a first date and the guy asks "so do you like it in the ass?" What makes it even worse is the fact that, FAR more often then not, the guy asking wants to suck on my tits for free during a $20 dance.
I'm not a prude by any stretch, and don't mind if a customer touches me, but it's gonna cost extra and it sure as hell won't involve my tits or genitals. Unless you're taking me to VIP/CR, don't even bother asking. All it'll do is piss me off and probably get you reported to management for seeking extras.

Would it be better if I was one of the guys that just grabs your tits without warning, or shoved my finger up your bum (actually I've never asked for that just an example), or pulled my cock out (again just an example pulled from stories on this sight).

Look if you want extra money for it you can qoute a price to me if I like it awesome, if not we part ways, but at least each of us can make an informed choice if we discuss thing before hand.

Were I get lapdances all lapdances are in the VIP, no public lapdances thankfully.

No. Actually it would be better if you didn't ask if it's OK to grope her or go for it without asking at all. Option three, the one where you let her take the lead and see where things go is what dancers generally prefer. In my experience a dancer will find ways of letting you know what the limits are and what the menu is.

Thread is still kicking eh. So I have taken a few Vegas trips and approached girls at the clubs. The approaches I can think of turned out to be awesome girls and spent about 300$ on them. One even went to peppermill with me and we headed to Fremont St. after.

Im going to make a new thread for this. Start approaching, ladies!

There are a LOT of things wrong with this post, so I'll just go in order-
    1) If a customer just grabbed my tits without warning, he gets only one warning to remove them before I walk out.
    2) If a customer stuck his finger up my ass, I will physically assault him right back in a far less pleasant way.
    3) If a customer pulled his cock out, I'm walking out and reporting him, so he just wasted his money.

Yes, asking is better than any of those three possibilities but, ultimately, any dancer that isn't an extras girl will think you're a worthless prick. We deal with enough of those on a nightly basis. Which leads me to the next issue-

    4) Keep your hands to your fucking self. If you want to touch, you're in the wrong place. Hire a hooker or an escort. And,
    5) Just cause a $20 dance isn't "public", that doesn't make it VIP.

So is it being said that VIP/CR is the deciding factor of when these boundary questions are acceptable to ask?

This. Idk, but I've never really understood how a guy asks if he can grope or finger a girl during a LD without it coming off as pathetic or creepy or both.
