Perfect. I wasn't sure how to explain this in the other thread, but the main reason soda is bad is because it wreaks havoc on the PH of the body. PH imbalance is the leading cause for most illnesses in modern society according to some select studies and I believe it.
The video isnt necessarily attacking diet soda, or the people who drink it, it's only explaining the importance of a pH balanced diet and what taking in high amount of acid actually does to your body, which in effect may lower your metabolism. Of courses not everybody who drinks diet soda or even regular soda is going to be fat. thats not the point, its about the overall health and balance in your body, and what soda and other high acid food/drinks can do to you.

I'm curious whether acids like vinegar and citrus are significantly less detrimental than the more commonly lambasted ones. Because I will never ever be able to say good-bye to vinegar![]()

While I agree with the premise that not having the correct pH completely throws off your body, I think it has little to do with diet soda. Things like orange juice or grape juice, or anything with added sugar in general, does far more damage to your pH level than diet soda. Those who are also prone to autoimmune disorders (arthritis especially) often times have a pH level that is thrown off (causing inflammation), but it is due to unknown factors and/or genetics. Trust me, I eat mostly raw & natural, yet I still have really bad acid reflux & inflammation. Even the scale the guy showed does not really make sense for most people.
