    Default G/G only mainstream?

Well, more mainstream than Streamate from my bedroom anyway.

I just watched last year's AVN awards and it got me thinking... I never gave mainstream a thought because I didn't want to get gang-banged by 15 guys and gargle their cum Sasha-Grey-style. Which is what I percieved porn as for some reason even though I watch plenty of it, and have been on other sides of the adult industry for years.

Two girls who were actually award winners/presenters (big enough names in the industry to be on the stage at AVN), one that said "Do you think a girl like me who only does girl/girl could be up for this award?" and the other girl said "I'm going to start doing boy/girl now so who wants to fuck me!" And I even read that Jenna Haze started off doing only girl/girl.

My question(s) to you that are more educated in this sense, is this considered a nuisance in the industry? I mean, the second you mention you don't want to do b/g IMMEDIATELY are people going to just shoot you down? And also, how do you take a cam career into the direction of girl/girl porn? Just google agencies and start sending out emails and pictures?

ANY information is helpful. I think the search button feels violated by now trying to read up on ANYTHING mainstream yet I can't find any specifics.

my impression is that big companies have a lot of people willing to do g/g and not a lot willing to do b/g, which means it'd be harder to break into g/g and easier to get picked up by a mainstream company if you are willing to do b/g (but that doesn't necessarily mean you're willing to do hardcore gangbangs, extreme insertion, etc.). just a thought - i might be wrong.

Yeah I definitely don't want to give the impression that I think g/g is an easy niche of this industry to get comfy in, because I know almost any of us ladies would be willing to help each other out for an O and a paycheck lmao I'm not against b/g but the hubby is and thats the only way he's willing to let me branch out OFF cam. We're working on our own b/g content between just him and I for C4S but idk.. it'd be cool to do at least ONE "professional" scene before I get too old. So I'm just wondering I guess what the next step is and if that step would take me in a g/g direction at all... lol

unwillingness to perform b/g will definitely serve as a 'handicap' to upward mobility in the adult industry.

I'm a g/g and solo only performer and I get enough work. The rates are lower and most of the work is in LA, but I do just fine. It's actually a really good idea to just go into the industry with low limits and work your way up. So say you only do solo, right? You can shoot with a company once. Then you up your limits to g/g. They shoot with you again. Now you do g/g with anal. Yet another shoot. Decide to go to b/g? Another shoot. If you start out with straight up b/g they shoot you at that, since the demand is higher and you probably only get one shoot.

Go to agencies in person. Call first, say you'd like to come by for a go-see, no pressure, when do they have time? Bring some photos with you on a thumb drive and bring two forms of ID, like a driver's license and your passport.

I have two agents and between the two of them I get a pretty decent amount of work when I go to LA.

There's not really much money in porn these days... especially girl/girl only because the going rate is about $500/full day if you work through an agent, and you can make that same money in a day of camming. You have to be traditionally hot to be picked up (although there is a bit of an alt scene) by an agent in the first place, meaning that you would definitely make the same amount camming/dancing. And work is not that plentiful to rely on in porn, plus there is a lot of competition now. Its sporadic, some maybe you'll shoot a few films one month, and then nothing for 3 months. You can't rely on that pay.

That's why most porn stars are also strippers, escorts, or cam girls as well, and rely on that for their basic income. Porn pay is really not that great, but it can be good to build up a fan base if you want to be mainstream or famous in the adult world. You will still have to strip, escort, or cam though to pay your bills. It just depends on your goals, as to if its worth it or not.

Thanks chicas! My main motivation here is a larger fan base, more exposure, and more connections.

On the same note, (I don't wanna flood the forum...) how do you go about finding a girl HIGHER than you on the adult popularity scale (particularly on streamate) and do some g/g shows on cam to increase traffic and popularity off her name? Not to USE her, I mean she'd be getting money obviously, but how do we find those girls when they're blocking out our region?

I guess I'm just really trying to dive deeper and like I said my main intention is to put my name further out there so any help on that alone is appreciated.

Most girls tend to only shoot with girls in the same popularity level as each other... Most seem to start off as friends. So I'd say become her friend via twitter or on a forum like this one and then go from there. Otherwise, if you have an agency, go through your agency.

I totally get what youre saying so it all comes down to us being our own mangers/media editors/promoters/webmasters/photographers.... damn us camgirls work harder than fuckin movie stars I swear. We're the ones who should be in tabloids adopting random children and shit lol. I just can't imagine a job that takes more just plain LOVE for what we do than this.
