I was worried that I'd do that - I have super frizzy, fine hair and my hair needs all the moisture it can get. Some people say moisturizing your hair too frequently is counter productive, but I've never had a problem. Worst thing happens is my hair feels a little dirtier and I might have to shampoo, even.
Phyto makes a nice pre-shampoo oil that moisturizes and defrizzes really nicely. Like every other oil treatment it will strip off dark hair dye.
Keratin treatments were a godsend, but I wouldn't encourage getting them more than once if you're not processing your hair and going lighter all that often. The first time, I'd never been happier with my hair. I was so thrilled that I got a second one done a few months later and learned the hard way that all the keratin proteins just dried out my hair and created more frizz.
Bumble and bumbles creme de coco mask was nice with the keratin treatments because it was super moisturizing and had a little protein in it for upkeep, so if you're going lighter it might be something to consider...Masquintense also gets a lot of love. If your hair likes argan oil, One N Only's argan oil mask works like a dream. Alterna shampoos and spray dry oils, also!
In terms of moisture though, nothing compares to nectar thermique. I still wash my hair with $5 organix shampoo, but a dime size of NT and my hair looks the smoothest it's ever been.
Let us know how everything goes!

i've done this once; my hair felt mushy, yuk!
considering your hair is dyed and you've said it feels dry, i don't think this would be enough to over moisturise. plenty people do what you plan it with no issues.
not moisturising it for a while did the trick to get my hair back to normal when this happened to me.
using an anti frizz serum might help but i don't know enough about it to recommend anything
i always ask myself this because im OBSESSED with hair masques/oils/conditioners for my super dry hair (esp in winter)..and i rarely shampoo..the only thing i could think of as far as overcondtioning (not talking about protein treatments) is that your hair will be left limp/no volume/greasy looking. my hair can handle alot of product by i have friends whos hair looks and feels waxy if they condition too often or with too much conditioner.
i dont think it can actually damage your hair unless you overload on silicone based products, which can coat your hair and prevent real moisture from reaching the follicle

If your hair is limp or spongy your moisture levels may be high. The key to healthy hair is maintaining an equal moisture/protein balance. The protein in your hair gives it its structure which is why limp hair is usually protein deficient. If you are getting color it's even more that you apply up your protein balance as the chemicals in color eat away at the hair's protein. There's lots of info about moisture/protein balance on the web. Here's an article here: http://www.bearfruithair.com/n/2011/...otein-balance/
A lot of deep moisturizing conditioners contain silicones (the most common one listed in conditioner and treatments is dimethicone). Too much silicone will weigh your hair down over time if used too often, and after a while all that build-up actually prevents moisture from penetrating the cortex, which can dry out the hair shaft and lead to damage. I'd just make sure to use a clarifying shampoo every two weeks to get rid of the build up from all the treatments you're doing...this will also help the next treatment to absorb really well too. Other than that, as long as your conditioning treatments don't involve too much protein (because over doing protein can damage your hair for sure), you can moisturize as much as you feel your hair needs it.

Yeah, it seems hard to find one w/o it.. Hmm did you say if your hair's thin/thick? That would matter. I use Kedra Color Maint. conditioner in silver bottle, I don't think it has xxxxcones in it, has silk. avacado oil. You just put in hair, then rinse it out
I don't like non-sulfite shampoos, they do not clean my hair! Definiately do not put a lot of conditioner in before/close to your hair color session, it will block it
I also like Pureology serum on ends/bottom portion of hair

Soak your hair every other night in organic extra virgin olive oil for like 2 weeks.
It is possible to overcondition your hair which will lead to breakage. A deep conditionr every 2 weeks should be fine but anything more like daily moisture mask could leave your hair in a worse state. A good deep conditionr should do the job but if you want more use leave in conditionrs and seal with coconut or olive oil. Your hair needs a balance of protien and moisture. If either is more or less than what it should be then you will have breakage. You should also do a Keratin treatment to prepare your hair for the color fix, the damage of over processcing will be signifigently reduced.
On Top.

You can, but if you OD on moisture its nothing that a good clarifying shampoo can't fix.
You CAN, however, OD on protein treatments. Depending on how often you shampoo, limit them to one every 1-2 weeks, and if you're using a heavy-duty protein, ALWAYS use a moisturizing conditioner afterwards.
