    Default Dancing in the uk!

Hey girls! I would very much appreciate some general information about dancing in the UK! I am moving to the UK in a month and since I've never danced there (except for ONE day) I'd like to find out a little bit. Is it very different from the US?

    I have a few questions:

Is the norm strictly no contact? Does that mean I am not aloud to touch the costumer either?

Is it usually nude or topless only?

Do you usually make your money from just dances or can you normally sell VIP-time too? Is it possible to make money of drinks?

Can you give me any hints of prices? (More or less...) How much is a dance normally and VIP-time? How much is the housefee normally?

Do you get told which days to come in or can you come and go as you please?(I understand each club is different but generally...?!)

THANK YOU SO MUCH IN ADVANCE!

Hey, I can only give you answers relating to my experiences but I think most places are pretty similar.

Strictly no contact refers to the customer touching us, we can touch them in a non sexual way during the dance, for example running your hands over their shoulders/arms, that kind of thing. So it's more than an air dance but certainly not 2 way contact.

It's topless on stage and nude in private dances/VIP. Topless dances are available on the main floor but they're rare, the girls don't tend to offer them and most guys want nude.

Money is made from a combination of single dances and VIP time. There's communal booths for regular dances and private booths for VIP time. No commission is made on drinks and if you ordered a fake alcoholic drink and charged the customer for it the waitress gets to pocket the difference.

Prices start at £20 a dance, £8 goes to the house. This varies a lot by clubs though, I don't think the London clubs take any commission from single dances but you pay a fee up front. VIP starts at £60 for 15 mins. At my current club you pay 40% as a fee at the end of the night officially but it's usually much less as they don't always mark you down for every dance especially if you tip.

Rotas are done a week in advance and you have to work 3 shifts a week so you can't just work fri/sat. They're pretty cool if you need to change shifts after though, its flexible but if you miss a shift they expect you to do a make up shift of their choosing.

    Hope this helps a bit

Totally depends on the club, ive danced in some where its strictly no contact at all and you have to keep one foot on the floor at all times, but i think generally its one way contact, (you can touch them but not them touch you). Dont be afraid to ask and have them spell it out for you what you can and cant do, cause you dont want to get fined for no reason.

My regular club charges £10 for nude dances, £60 15min VIP, £100 half hour etc, and they take 20% of what you earn. Its quite a small cub, some of the bigger ones do £20 nude, £80 15min VIP, £160, etc. In my smaller club most of my money comes from lots of single dances, but in the bigger clubs its been a few VIPs, they had about £30 house fee (it went up the later you arrived) and took 30%.

As far as i can tell most clubs dont bother with the topless dances, they might do it but its not usually worth it. Ive only worked in one club where you can make money off drinks an thats been a percentage of the price of some of the champagnes.

From what i can tell i think the main difference will be the tipping. there isnt really a cultural norm to tip people over here, so if you do have to do a stage show dont expect to get any money for it.

Good luck and have fun! xxx
