I started with 6" and have stayed with that height. It's less about the height of the heels and more about the width of the base for me -- I don't do well in stiletto type shoes, I just don't feel stable in them. I like chunky soles or boots.
Straps help, as does walking around in them as much as possible before your audition to break them in and get used to them.
Good luck!![]()
thank youu !!

My first couple pairs were 6" without ankle straps. I was pretty awkward in them.
I know a girl who started dancing 10-15 years ago and she said they started her off in 8" with just the toe strap. Crazy!
straps or no straps ?
straps

I started with 6, but after a couple weeks I switched to 7 and haven't down graded since.
Go to a stripper store. Try on a few different inches and pick the one you think makes your body look more flattering.

I bought a pair, for doing some bar/beauty contests..I bought a 4" pair, but trying them on, they didn't seem high enough! I definitely agree about having straps!

Take them like my cocksNothing under 7". And like a big cock my 1st time hurt.

7" and have vacillated between 6", 7", and 8". No straps.

If you are new... I would use a pair of 6" heels with an ankle strap as this can sometimes give your ankle some support. It also comes down to how tall you as well. You do have to wear them in though no matter what shoes you get, if they are plastic over the toe then you can heat it up with a hair dryer and then put for foot in so it moulds to your foot.
Hop that helps![]()

I swear by the straps.

I've upgraded to 7" and I think I prefer them. I wore 6" for years, but I recently bought a pair of 7" that I love. I think they're more glamorous. 8" throws off my proportions too much and looks like I'm on stilts... I'm not a tall girl (5'5) but 8" would make me tower over most of my customers. I always feel bad when I'm giving dances to tiny little Asian men and I feel like I'm about to squash them...
Always an ankle strap for me. I'm a pole monkey; no straps = shoe flying off and hitting some poor customer on the head.
6" with straps.

I started with 6" with ankle straps, then moved on the no straps since they looked better on me

I started with 6" but now I only buy 7"s because they make my legs look better.. I don't necessarily think 6"s are easier to walk in, but one thing I know: gotta have straps

i've never had shoes with straps, i really want to see if they make a difference. i started with 4", and am now happy at 7".

I started dancing in 4" with straps, and usually wear 5 or 6 without. Girls at my club are often barefoot, in uggs/mocassins, sandals, or little heels, so the shoe thing is pretty lax around here.

I started in 6" but the only spare ones my club had were the ribbon tie so if your just starting out I definitely recommend straps lol I'm pretty short 5'1" so I eventually got 7" with straps and that made me only a little shorter than the other girls
My very first night they put me into 8'' stiletto heels and I fell right out of them, I ended up buying 7'' heels with only the foot straps and they always worked the best for me.

I started of with 6" with straps. Since then, I had tried them all; however, I stick to 7"s and 8"s.

7" with straps. I tried 8" without straps and I don't think he height was a problem, but having no straps certainly was.

6" until recent now i got 7"

6" straps, and I actually got them from the spirit halloween store for my costume the year before. I just figured they would be close enough to stripper shoes, little did I know they were stripper shoes so I got lucky there because I had no idea where to get real stripper shoes back then! I still haven't moved up to 8" but I can use strapless shoes now!

I started in a 5inch heel, because I figured I was tall enough. I stayed in 5inches for about a year, till I got a strapless 6 and a half inch pair for 9 dollars. Now I only wear 6& half for strip clubs 5 1/2 for burlesque. I find that when I go higher than that it puts stress on my knees. Also 6inches make me as tall as the guys over that and they kind of shy away from me. I can do strapless, but not tiny tiny heels. I need a nice stable base
