I dunno. that rubbed me the wrong way. Having four people sitting there making fun of strippers like that was just too much.

Yeah some jokes were pretty crude. Though I have to laugh oddly at the fact that a strip club is hosting toy drive?? wtf

I don't think that's weird. A lot of strippers are mothers. A lot of strippers have known hard times. A lot of people who have known hard times know that a gift, whoever it comes from, is a great thing.

I guess I'm not familiar with club-hosted donations. I could never imagine it going on at my little club in AZ. The owner here is a greedy ass :/

The club is Admiral Theater in Chicago http://www.inquisitr.com/167811/lap-...mas-toy-drive/

I'm always curious if that's how strip club charity events work. It seems to me that what with how strip club management tends to be, they WOULD make the girls be the ones making the actual donation, rather than giving up the club's cut. I mean, I guess it's going to a good cause, but it's sort of a forced donation on the part of the dancers unless they choose to skip that shift (and I wouldn't put it past clubs to make them mandatory to prevent that).

I am in agreement with the exotic dancers on this thread. That video is in bad taste. You should never trivialize anyone's effort to do charity work. The act of selfless giving is a noble one and its import does not diminish for its association with exotic dancers.

IDK, I have to say that some of the jokes were kind of funny, but overall I agree with lucious sadie's sentiments. They went for the cheap laugh based on the negative stripper stereotype a little too much.

I do like Tina Fey and think she's hilarious most of the time, but she seems really anti-sex worker (not basing this soley off of this sketch; she's taken multiple shots at strippers in her comedy and writing). IMO, it's the difference between light-hearted ribbing and the "these people are gross and only worthy of derision" mentality.

I try to be lighthearted about stripper jokes and I thought SNL's strip club dj skit was funny. I just hate the idea that I wouldn't have been able to sit through that episode of SNL if I was watching it with other people. I would be uncomfortable and would have to leave or have the channel changed.

I don't think that's how comedy should be. I think that there's a difference between pushing a line and making people leave the room and I thought SNL was better than that.

Although some clubs around here are offering free admission with a toy.
Not quite a bad idea for you as long as this doesn't pop up too much...good vibes, gives back & as long as it truly goes to charity.

I worked at a club that had a lady's night charity night, everything made in dances that night went to the local children's hospital. A couple of the bartenders and reg custie's were the ones giving dances, was hilarious! Great night.

They are giving the customer one lapdance worth of club money (pleasure bills) per toy they bring, to use how they want in the club. They dancers still make money, its the club giving up ten dollars per toy brought in, even if the toy may not have cost that much, its bringing buisness in around the holidays either way and goes to a good cause Yes that was my club being made fun of on SNL and i thought it was really rude and stupid/not funny at all.

I wouldn't even care if the jokes were funny... they're just like. Such low blows that it looks stupid for SNL.

it was really rude and stupid. I hope you guys had a good toy drive though

That's a cool system. I'm glad to hear that the club is actually the one donating, and not forcing the dancers to donate their time/money. Giving to charity is certainly admirable and a good thing to do, but no one should be forced to do it without consent.

I could get behind that and could see putting aside
    $50-100 to buy charity dances

Actually, it's my club that I work at that they were making fun of. And it is kind of offensive. We have done it every year & it's always been successful. I don't understand why it's ok to make fun of sex workers doing charity -at least we didn't bumble it like some celebrities.

Oh well, fuck em -more publicity for my club anyways. Morons

We don't lose out on anything -the club pays us for doing that one table dance for the customer instead of the customer paying for it. One toy for one dance -one toy per visit.

    Our club works alil differently.

I totally 2nd this. Fuck that bitch. Anyone read about her in Tits & Sass..?

    http://titsandsass.com/?cat=53

The list of dif articles about her is kinda ridiculous (yet some of her photos are just so sexual themselves -maybe she's not aware yet that she's whoring herself out as well for men yet or is in denial). She must be so sexually repressed that she hates us all that damn much. Oi

I don't think you need to feel bad. You thought it was funny, so you decided to share with like minded people who might also find it funny....which is why we tell jokes in the first place.

That said, I read the comments before watching the video and I was pleasantly surprised...I didn't find it very offensive at all, except for maybe the crabs joke, courtesy of Tina Fey. Yes, I also find her to be very anti-sex worker.

I don't really appreciate being the subject of cruel, tasteless jokes, but I honestly didn't think most of this was all that bad. In fact, some of it was fucking hilarious!

Just saying, if you can't laugh at yourself, well....you're not going to be very happy working in any industry, much less one that comes with your very own, gift wrapped stereotypes.

    Teeheehee.....toys for tatas. Priceless.

It is not your fault. You did not make fun of exotic dancers. It's them at fault. I think you have been all right in my book so far.

Same. Stripper jokes don't bother me, sensitivity doesn't really have a place in strip clubs haha. Some professions are just more joked about than others--lawyers, politicians, strippers.

And totally agree with you, if you can't laugh at yourself...

I thought it was funny anyway.
