Angry I hate the post office

GRRRRRRR is there any wonder why they're going out of business?!!!

    Just a rant...

my family sent me and my boyfriend a series of Christmas presents in one big box; they paid for insurance and delivery confirmation. I've been waiting and waiting for it, and I was extremely surprised then to see that it was marked as "delivered" on USPS' website. I was home the whole day the package was supposedly delivered waiting for it, and he never came to the door.

I went to the Post Office, and they said the only thing they can do is ask the Postman where he delivered it, and they'd call me in the morning.

Of course, they don't call me, but I saw the postman making his rounds, and I pounced him. He couldn't tell me where he left the mythical package, because "he isn't sure if he worked that day or not". Wtf?

Went BACK to the Post Office...and they said they'd ask him again.

Best part? Even though it's insured, they say I'm not eligible to receive the insurance payment, because it's marked as "delivered".

And when I asked about delivery confirmation, I said, "So by 'delivered' it could mean he threw it in a gas station parking lot, correct"? And they said yes..."delivery confirmation" just means it was delivered SOMEWHERE>

GRRRRRRRRR! I will never use them again. I'm just so upset-my family went through so much trouble to get these gifts to me, and now it's just disappeared due to this horrible place's incompetence.

That blows! I don't even know what type of recourse you could pursue with this, but I know it's not a rare case. That's why I want to get a PO Box set up. Less of a chance for them to mess up and not take the blame.

Delivery confirmation means somebody signed for it. There is something fishy about claiming that their carrier delivered it but no one signed.

^No, delivery confirmation means you just get tracking...you have to ask for signature confirmation for someone to sign for it...that confused me too

Right^..That truly sucks..I've had some probs. w/them, luckily not too many, as an online seller..did you go online, & send an email? I got results that way..if not, try calling/going in person, (next week) & ask for a supervisor..that's total crap. Good luck
