Has anyone considered using Tor for your cam stuff? I have never been on Tor, but I am considering it now since there is never enough things that you can do to protect your privacy. The reason why I have not started using it yet is because I don't want to be associated with anything illegal, and I am sure that ISPs keep track of your log-ons to anonymity networks, and I don't want to cause suspicion where there does not need to be one.

New to all of this, but I didn't follow. Explain, please?

Tor is WAY too slow and it'll add TONS of lag to your stream. Just don't. A VPN like Tunnelbear will be enough.

    Also, thanks for the bump!

    Has this been mentioned?

If you sell your laptop / hard drives / smartphone, make sure all data is completely gone. I am not sure formatting is good enough, others might advise on that. I once had to use data recovery services and I was amazed how far back on the hard drive everything could still be restored.

Use the diskpart tool in cmd

    http://knowledge.seagate.com/article...S/FAQ/005929en

You can also fill a disk with random data

    http://www.digitalcitizen.life/3-way...ows-given-size

But always use bitlocker if someone God forbid broke in and stole your machine they would have all your files

Bit locker means they can only wipe your pc and pop a new os on it. And not have all your videos and content. Ideally you should be backing up to a cloud service etc.

Something others may not have considered... if you have any unique destinctive tattoos from pre cam days, make sure you google them and see if they are linked to the real you at all.

I recently had a cam customer tell me he thinks he saw my tattoo in a buzz feed style 'top 10 tattoos on this random theme' I couldnt find anything linking back to me, but it was something i haadnt actually considered before!

I get customers asking to see my tats all the time. I don't hide them in my show, but I'm sure as hell not sitting there letting them screen shot it. I'm sure it's b/c they all think I come from someplace I tell them and they want to go shop to shop with some bullshit story about how I'm trying to find the girl with this tattoo- is that your work.

Mind Blowing What's the Worst That Can Happen?

I'm pretty new to camming and have seen a lot of "Keep yourself safe while camming" threads. The advice is very useful in regards to not revealing personal information, computer security, having reposted content removed, etc.

I recently removed geo blocking for my neighbouring country because it was too limiting in terms of exposure. I feel okay/good about it.

Recently, I've experienced things in my day-to-day life on occasion (being followed by idle teenage guys, having someone leave little peach pits in the driver's side handle of my car repeatedly, former male friends reaching out to me after disappearing for years, etc.) that have nothing to do with camming but put me on edge.

It just makes me curious to know what I may be getting myself into now that I've started camming / creating content.

What incidences of 'stalking' directly related to camming have you experienced?

At some point doing this job you will be found out. The longer you do it its inevitable. Some people have been found out and don't even know it yet. I've been spotted doing something as innocent as getting ice cream. I just made sure they didnt follow me home. Stalking can happen to anyone who maintains an online presence. Youtubers,Insta Celebrities and Cammodels. Truthfully I feel as though we're safer than some youtubers because most of us lie about our whereabouts whereas some social media stars get paid to appear at night clubs etc. If you're doing all that you can to stay safe online but being stalked is still a major concern then may want to think about doing something else. I referred you to this thread to see what sort of precautions you can take.

Every old phone & laptop I have since starting in porn sits in my closet.

Being stalked online or in real life happens everyday to women who do not cam or do porn. Men follow & stalk lots of women in general.

Old boyfriends or male friends often times look up ones who got away & try to reconnect & it may not have anything to do with camming. Women look up old exs & such all the time out of curiosity.

You should always be aware of your surroundings & personal information you post online. Everyday our private lives are being erased by companies & governments. Facial recognition is used way more than I am comfortable with period.

Hell, your thumb print that you use to open up the iphone you bought are collected by the Gov.

Privacy & the web do NOT exist & in the real world it is eroding daily.

I think Sam38G just answered a question for me. My laptop just fucked up and I'm thinking do I try to take it in for service? If so, how far away should I drive so they don't know anyone I know. OR should I just get a new one? ( which I can get, but would super prefer to wait on.)

Has anyone purchased and installed a simplisafe system or something similar before? Looking into getting one, but kind of on the fence due to the price.

I had this in my old house. It was great! Pretty easy to set up, and it worked well. The price isn't too bad since you don't have to go on a contract.

I've had my share of cam stalkers, so I'm now very cautious, and somewhat paranoid.
I took a road trip last week, and went by way of a toll road.
I've never been on a toll road, so I kept looking for the booth where I was supposed to pay.
    There wasn't one.
When I got home, I noticed a charge for the toll road that had been taken out of my debit card.
    ?????
So, did the city,/ govt scan my VIN number, or license plate to get that personal info?
I remember reading that if anyone knows either of those things, they can get all of your info too.
Does anyone know the answer to this?

Yes, toll roads often use cameras to get your license plate info, and they use that to bill you. Definitely creepy, but efficient.

So I suppose that a stalker who has certain access could too?
    This is my concern.

Buy a new one. Doesn't matter how far you go, more than likely all your real info is in it too. It isn't worth it to take that risk.

There is gold components in each laptop too. I save all of mine for several reasons.

How old is it? If it is more than 2 years old, replace it. It is cheap investment compared to how much money we make on them. Say a new one cost you $1200 & you make $3000 a month with it. Comparatively how much equipment cost for most businesses & when they see a return on it is way longer.

I don't know what all you do on yours editing wise & such, I'm sure you can buy something in the $750 range & be just fine.

Welcome to the nanny state where every move, purchase is traced.
Stalkers can find you no matter what. They can follow you home from the grocery store & have no clue that you cam. Or a cyberstalker can hack your computer & you'd never know. He is also more likely to be caught too.

Now because of a toll road, I highly doubt it. How many other vehicles passed through on that road that day? How does he know when & where you are diving too? There is a lot of data to go through in order to find you that way. He has to hack the Gov or your bank & at that skill point, nothing can stop him from finding anyone.

I keep telling everyone, there are no more secrets in the world anymore.

If the GOP & Trump have their way, expect lot more toll roads. In Mexico a friend told me another country built a huge long highway & it cost $27 to drive on it. This is what Trump & the GOP means letting other countries & corporations invest into the infrastructure of America.
