How long did you return to work after you had your breast augmentation?

I wasn't working when I had mine done - but I couldn't imagine going back to work any sooner than 8 weeks out. I was still really stiff, sore and the clubs I eventually ended up working were very high contact.
Mind you, I've known some women who go back after 4-6 weeks. They're risking infection still at that stage (according to their doctors) but the girls said they were no longer in pain.

as discussed in other threads, getting 'overs' makes for a quicker return to work than getting 'unders' ... since under involves cutting muscle tissue, and also involves possible shifting of an implant due to strong pec muscle contraction on the implant before sufficient scar tissue has been allowed to form in the breast pocket to hold the implant in proper position.
With 'overs', once the incision is fully healed and the swelling is fully gone, you're good to go - typically 3-4 weeks, but some girls have pushed it to 2 weeks. With 'unders', 6-8 weeks is a more typical waiting period, although some girls have risked it at 4 weeks.

I got mine August 30, 2011 and I was back to work Sept 20 2011. I had planned on going back to work on Halloween but he got pulled over and we were facing massive legal fees so I went back to work. I took it slow, nothing crazy onstage, and didn't allow customers to touch/squeeze/etc (well except for this really hot young metalhead who looks like Dave Grohl)
Listen to your body. Take it easy and if your club allows it ask to be excused from stages and just work the floor.

I could have at 2 months, but I did at 3 months instead. Clubs here are high contact, and I was worried of men touching my boobs, or me getting some infection along the lines, so I waited 3 months until I was fully comfortable with contact and the way the recovery progessed.
I think 2 months is the best choice. Usually at 4-6 weeks (depending on your PS) your cover over the stitches goes and then its best to wait a week or two and decide. See how you body feels, whether there is pain or you think you will be uncomfortable or getting infection. 2 months seems like the common length though.

^I was thinking the same thing.

I have had three sets of implants and have taken a month off each time, as recomended by my ps. Just take care with customers and don't do anything crazy on stage or the pole.

I'm going back after four weeks. I have overs and have not felt any pain for a good two and a half weeks. Honestly, I'm so bored of doing nothing that I need to get back to work before I start picking up negative habits.

Indeed, over the muscle implants involve far less tissue / nerve trauma. Recovery is much quicker. And there's no risk of implant shifting due to muscle contraction 'squeezing' an under the muscle implant that hasn't been 'secured' yet by scar tissue formation. The trade-off with overs is that 5 years down the road they may not 'look' as good ... but where many dancers are concerned 5 years later they'll be thinking about a re-do anyhow !!!I have overs and have not felt any pain for a good two and a half weeks.
But with overs or unders, there's still the issue of the 'strength' of your healed incision ... plus potential risk of infection if any portion of your incision isn't 100% 'sealed'. For this reason four weeks of 'downtime' should be considered the minimum if you're going to fully expose your breasts in the club.

I waited 6 and there was no way I could have gone back sooner. I was pretty uncomfortable for about 2 months.

18 days! Crazy huh?! Lol.. I recovered reallly fast. I was driving and moving around by Day 4. I almost wondered if it was because of where my incision was? (crease)
ETA: I don't do pole tricks. I was also allowed to skip stage for 2 weeks.

I felt fine after 2 weeks, but really i wouldn't want to stretch the muscle too much as mine were submuscular. I took a month off. I'd suggest saving enough to cover a month's bills at least, and then you know you're covered if you really don't feel up to it xx
