    Default Epic fail :(

    TWICE in one night!

Failure #1: I don't know what happened, because I'm actually pretty experienced on the pole and I wasn't even trying anything too difficult. I think some bitch was wearing lotion when she got on it. But anyway, I was at the VERY freaking top and just fell. Nothing to break my fall, no desperate grabbing, nothing. I knocked the wind out of myself and I thought I broke my arm....it's NEVER happened before.

Second, and probably because I was so tired/hurting from the first fail, I publicly failed at the lap headstand during a birthday burn, in front of the whole damn club. I struggled with it, looking like a fuckin tard, and then finally got it.....and this little bitch did it flawlessly, just to make me feel like a bigger ass. Again, done it before, it's nothing new, so not sure what happened.

Gaaah....luckily I'm leaving that club in 2 days, so I won't have to go back as "the girl who broke her fuckin ass onstage."

Someone tell me something to make me feel better.

    I'm sorry that happened Farrah

If it's any consolation, I worked with a girl who got her real hair (it was down to her knees) wrapped around the pole while she was in a layback. She pretty much scalped herself at midnight on a Saturday night. It was awful.

Oh my GOD...sweetie...I am SO glad you're okay! Holy shit that had to be intensely painful. How did you even manage to get off of the stage??

Best part was this: As I was laying on the ground, clutching my arm in agony, my friend stands over me and says "DUDE......we're gettin drunk tonight!"

Let this serve as a lesson. If you wear oil or lotion before you get on the pole, I will hunt you down and hurt you.

When I was dancing, there was a sign on the mirror in some dressing room somewhere (maybe NOLA or Nashville) that said "Ladies, do NOT use oil or lotion. We will not help you when you get your ass beat for it." I always LOL'd at that

Reading this made my head hurt and my eyes water. OMG!! Btw, I've noticed now that my hair is finally lower mid-back, I have to watch what kind of rings I wear. Anything with raised stones, jewels or whatever get caught. Ouch

To the OP: Gosh, I hope you're ok. I've been there and it's not fun. And it was my head.

    I hope you're feeling better.

Believe me, I understand that! Now that my hair is down to my waist, I get it caught in all sorts of things: seat belts, power windows, doors, elevators, rings, my ARMPITS. OMG, just everything! I thought I would like it once I had grown it out, but now I realise I miss my Bettie Page haircut, so I'm off to the hairstylist . . .

See, I had waist length hair a few years ago and I never had that problem, at all! But Jesus, that's scary....I mean, I wouldn't be able to return to that club again if everyone saw me scalp myself.

I was in the DR one night and heard a super loud smashing noise...I thought dudes were fighting and had thrown a table or something.

Nope, a girl had been spinning at the top of the pole, flew off it, right off the stage onto a table. She was drunk, so she got right back up on stage with her leg bleeding, lol.

    Shit happens.

LOL!!! One of the DJs told me about that! He said that she got up, went to the middle of the stage and pumped her hands like "YEAH!"

at that club I once missed a leghook on a spin and kind of flew all over the place. That was bad.

My frist day back from a vacation I fell off the pole from the highest point, did a front flip while falling im mid-air, and as my leg was trailing behind me my shoe made contact with this girls face. I landed with my back facing her and it took me about 10 seconds to re-collect myself. To me, it felt like I had barely nudged her with my foot but then when I turned around I saw that she had fallen on the floor and was unconcious, with her boyfriend hovering over her screaming her name. She woke up, literally about 5-8 minutes later while the ambulance was on its way over. I went over to apologize to her after the medics checked on her and she was walking around with the aid of her boyfriend (I don't know why they had her walk around?) and half of her entire face was black and swollen. She was confused and seemed to be in so much pain--all because of my stupid ass falling off of the pole.

One of my friends accidently took a chunk out of some guys forehead with her heel, and he started bleeding profusely, everywhere. Thats a whole different story though, lol.

Don't worry about it too much, shit happens to everyone sooner or later =)

Shit happens to everyone! I have at different times fell down on stage, almost fell off the stage, ran into the pole, and actually fell up the stairs going on to the stage. I figure as long as I don't get it hurt, I can just laugh it off and nobody but me really cares anyway.
I know a girl who was drunk and took a running leap to grap the pole, missed, and flew into the crowd taking out several guys in the front row.
Another girl was swinging around the pole and hit a guy with her heel, leaving a huge hole in his forehead which required a call to 911.

On a serious note, any girls that use lotion and then go on stage aren't professional enough to be dancers...its just plain dangerous.

Ouch, I hate winding myself, its a horrible feeling but i'm glad you didn't do anything too serious to yourself.. Well in the end you just have to find the humour in it and don't take it too seriously.
I know when I am a bit under the weather my core muscles fail me and I can't hit the moves I usually do. I once did a bucks party where I went to do a headstand type thing just in front of the seated buck then I kind of bend my legs back into his lap. Anyway I only made it not even half way and I was left there upside down with my legs flapping around in the air LOL i must have looked so silly and uncoordinated but my muscles just completely failed me. I just sat back up and laughed at myself even though I was embarrassed and everyone then cheered when i finally did it properly they just thought it was funny. In saying that though I didnt have a smart ass then showing off that she could do it properly, thats a bit shit
Just dust yourself off and keep going girl, you will look back at this and laugh oneday too xx

I am so sorry for you, that sounds awful!

At the same time, I needed this thread, as I had my first major fall last week. I had one leg up on the rack in front of three hipster dudes and my foot just went right out from under me. I fell onto them with my legs sort of waving around in the air like a turtle.

The bartender had to come over and untangle me, and called me twinkle toes for the rest of the night. >< Shit happens.

OW! At least you were able to walk away with no serioius injuries. That would be worse than any blow to the ego!

If it helps you feel better, this one time my shoe got caught on the edge of the stage and I fell off (what is the stage height? 4'?) only to faceplant on the dirty floor! I wasn't phsyically hurt, but it was really embarassing!

...Speaking of stairs, otw back to the dressing room a couple of weeks ago I fell down the whole flight & landed; HARD. Luckily, nobody saw me (LOL) but it hurt like a bitch!

I've also kicked a customer in the face when I was doing a spin...I left a little bruise, but me & the customer laughed it off.

OP, I'm so sorry that happened to you!I can only imagine how painful that was - but glad nothing majorly serious resulted in it as far as extensive injuries and such
