    Default Competitions

    Does anyone do them?
Are they worth it either financially, or mainly as the 'title' for your career?
Just curious as the Miss Nude USA competition was won by an Aussie a few weeks ago
Theres no sense crying over every mistake,
you just keep on trying till you run out of cake

in terms of direct finances, NO the competition will cost you more money in 'lost work' plus travel expenses than you will ever win back in prize money.

Indirectly, if you're seeking a career as a feature dancer, then the 'resume boost' that comes from having such credentials as Miss Nude ___ can help you command a higher feature fee. But in truth, with feature fees being what they are these days, the expected increase is pretty minimal.

how much can you make as a feature? Well, I know you get tips and do dances but how does it really work?

^To put it simply, clubs pay feature dancers to do special shows to draw in crowds. Basically feature dancers get a base pay to appear at the club and do stage shows and then often can also sell dances to up their earnings. The earnings vary based on the dancer (porn star, lots of titles, distinguishing features, etc.), so it's hard to say how much you can earn, but don't expect to be raking in tons of money from feature dancing.

ive done some. you really have to invest a lot of time and money if you want to place and even then the prize was mostly gift packs from sponsors. id say worth it if being a professional showgirl is what you want to be and feature and do mag covers but otherwise not really. i just did em for my own amusement but im beginning to get over it.

^^^ to be more open than I should be, today a number of features basically use their club booking and travel / accomodation reimbursements as a basis for furthering their MAJOR source of income ... booking 'private sessions' with fans in a nearby hotel room between scheduled shows at the club !

sounds believable! Yea, I think even if you're a porn star it's probably not the most amazing source of income... Does the club usually pay travel and all that stuff too?

^^^ in today's poor economy, travel and accomodation reimbursements are less prevalent than they used to be. Feature fees are also lower than they used to be ( mostly the result of fewer days being booked i.e. only 3-4 days ). These developments of course place greater emphasis on the feature girl being able to generate additional income from 'other sources' in order to make the trip financially worthwhile.

Comps are fixed all over the world, here in Aus it's well known that there are only some states that run fair comps, Melbourne where I am is not one of them. In terms of extra bookings comps only helped before the age of the internet because all the client had was the yellow pages so an agent could say she's won Miss Whatever and got voted best butt in this so you should hire her, these days guys like to look at the pretty pictures so you're more likely to get booked off a decent pic than a worthless title xx
