Default Tossing mascara after three months?

Who here actually follows this rule? I'm in love with the "Fairy Drops" mascara which is $24 a tube. That over $100 for this mascara a year. All though it is tax deductible, I still can't seem to fathom the thought of this.

Am I the only one who can't get a single tube to last more than 3 weeks tops? No matter which brand I use, drugstore or high end, it always dries out on me around that time. I don't even pump it, I twist it like you're supposed to. I do put a lot on though...maybe the time it takes me to apply, it's drying out while open?

Same, got YSL shocking and it took two weeks to dry up. I thought it was just the brand but apparently not...

Lancome hypnose wasn't all that bad to me but I'll have to buy another tube and see.

^^Running the tube under piping hot water for about 10 seconds will help moisten it up again.

I used Fairy Drops currently too. I don't think I'll be using it again. I love what it does to my lashes but it doesn't last very long. I've had my tube about two months and even though I take good care of it, it's already gloppy.

Which's one reason I don't care to spend high $ on mascara..although I don't follow this rule..another thing, I prefer the mini tubes..I like Sally's, only .99c doesn't last long though of course

I buy a crap load of mascaras and open them all at ones.. Ill find one after 2-3 months, so I dont throw them out... They never went bad on me. I just clean off the blush from clumps and off I go. I think that rule is BS, just a reason to buy more product!

Check out Sephora. You can get samples with every order and many times you can get a few free mini mascaras, mine perfumes, mini foundation. After a while you'll have a baggie of all these little items you can bring to the club that you don't have to worry about loosing. I'm a little upset because I missed out on some of their really cute bags of goodies but still picked up a few. I mean bag stuffed with samples of everything from moisturizer to concealer as long as I purchased the min $25. They have some sales still going right now with things they are giving an extra 20% off plus samples.

If it's $50 or more you get free shipping. Plus there are so many cool utube videos of girls trying on makeup so you get real reviews from real wearers. Not a bunch of hype about expensive shit that either doesn't last or isn't highly pigmented.

I really do wish VS would get on the review bandwagon. I never really buy shoes there for that reason alone.

I throw my mascara out after it dries up and it stays pretty decent for a long long time unless I use it daily. As for the tubes drying up, maybe it's the climate you live in?

I use YSL, Chanel and Lancome, and even these start going gloopy after about 8 weeks.

In fact ALL mascaras dry out fast, and one of the reasons why it happens so quickly is.......bacteria. Believe it or not, your eyelashes carry the highest number, and greatest density of bacteria anywhere on the body.....and these microbes transfer to the brush and into the tube every time you use your mascara. They contribute to the drying out process and of course make old mascara rather unhealthy too. My Mother always used to renew her mascara after 3 months for this very reason.
