When this procedure works as advertised the results can be excellent. But there is also the potential for permanent scarring, loss of nipple sensation etc. And basically this is the only lift procedure that will result in actual lifted breasts with a minimal 0-1 cup size increase.
If a larger sized implant can be used, then a partial lift procedure that only involves incisions around the areolae - a.k.a. 'donut lift' - can be used. This avoids the under breast incision thus scarring. But the 'donut lift' relies on the size of the implants used being big enough to 'stretch' the existing breast skin tight again ... which may result in a 2-3 cup size increase being required for good lift results.
