Question This time of year, applying @ SC..

Is it worthwihile? Still thinking of going back..I had asked someone about this, they said to wait til March/April. One club I'd worked at (this was awhile ago) it did stay busy after the holidays, up to spring, then it was dead thru summer, which seems to be the trend.
I know it can vary by areas too..I'm in the Chicago area..thanks so much ladies!

Meanwhile I have been averaging $400 barely working hard at all for MY standards, but still working a lot harder than they are. Also, there have been barely any girls showing up the past two weeks because "it's slow because it's the holidays"...again, more money for ME. It is definitely possible to make money during the holidays/slow season and without regulars.

And I don't know if you are this way...but working regularly keeps me in my money making mode and also keeps me from getting fat. I would never want to take an extended break and show up for "money season" 15 lbs heavier than I should be when there are extra girls in competition mode!
Wow, that's crazy, them starting late/leaving early!
I'm so glad you're doing good, at your new club!! I definitely need to be in the $-making mode too!

I literally have never noticed a difference in the amount of money I make between seasons (and I keep close track of my money).

Maybe that's because I tend to make most of my money off of a small number of customers? As long as I can find one customer to spend money on me, I consistently make good money every night I work. Or maybe it's because I work so infrequently that my psychotically good mood guarantees a good night every night? Not sure. ::shrugs::

Thanks for inspiring me...! I am going back to dancing in 2-3 weeks after a looong break of 2 years...everyone kept saying I should have gone back in December and that it is probably not worthwhile in January but I believe it really doesnt matter whether the club is busy or not...I have always preferred working weekdays instead of weekends and early shifts instead of late anyways, I make more money with less costumers. I know it will be great working in Jan and Feb!

^ I am the saaaaame way. Less customers = more money for me (within reason). Maybe I just like the challenge. Or maybe the other girls get lazy when there are fewer customers in the club.

I'll never understand why girls just up and quit during the "slow" season, or wait until spring time to go back....my town is slow in a severe, painful way during the months of September through late February, early March. There came a time when most of the girls were averaging $200-300 and some were leaving empty handed. Guess what...

The empty handed ones were also the ones who sulked in the back all night and complained about money! I know because I was one of those girls. I was lucky to scrape up $50 some nights, but it was because of my attitude. When I perked up, so did my $$$!

And um, helloooo......$200 is still nothing to sneeze at! Most of the non-dancers I know are barely taking that much home in a WEEK! And even if it's way below your average during busier months, it's still much, much more than nothing....which is what you would be making if you quit/didn't bother going in. (not directed at anyone in particular, just saying.)

Here's the bottom line: there is always money to be made. Each customer is a wallet/bank account that can be emptied. Whether the money is worth all the crap we put up with is seriously debatable, but it's money nonetheless...I say go in and give it a try.

I'm the one that told whirlez not to bother applying at my club until around March. Yes, it's incredibly slow at my club right now. We went from 25 girls to 8 girls in 2 months. The club is located in the middle of nowhere in a town that relies on tourists from Chicago to make their money off of. I've worked there 10 years so I know what I'm talking about From about November-the end of Feb., we mostly get the locals and regulars. The weekends aren't bad though. However, you HAVE to work at least 2 weekdays in order to be hired. It wouldn't seem worth it for whirlerz to drive an hr and a half from Chicago and working 4 nights and having only 2 of those nights being worth the drive.
I wasn't scaring her away or being greedy either. I'd be more than happy to have her at my club I just think the clubs in Chicago would be alot more profitable this time of year.

I've personally had my best overall week last year early January (where everybody says it's bad) and my best single night in late August, which they say is the worst time.. It really doesn't matter too much what time of year it is to make money (in most cases). The club doesn't need to be packed to have a great night.

Oh, Thanks HUN! No, I wasn't taking it wrong. I so appreciate your input. I had asked around about another club too. It's also been awhile since I've danced, things change so much..the thing is, I don't really think I'd be a great fit for the local area clubs.. I also have to take weather into consideration..last year we had a 'white out' blizzard, 60+ in. of snow, lightening, high winds. I may end up spending a weekend if I go far (& even so to save on gas)
Thanks Ladies so much, I appreciate everyone's input!

This makes sense to me! I've never noticed this in clubs that were in major cities, but for tourist towns, absolutely! Especially true if your club is 90% locals / regulars during these months. Ick!

So your club actually limits the number of girls who can work these months? That's awesome!

Not exactly... the girls couldn't handle the lack of clientele so they quit. But of course they all come back in the summer when business is booming.
