Im happy to say that i already have saved up 5000
for less than a month so i gonna hope to have 30000 till the end of the year

Yay just looked at my savings balance and I have more than I thought! Feeling pleased
Also I feel much better about the 10k goal if i convert USD to GBP, google tells me it's ~£6300 lol woo!
Time for me to join!
A little late, but I just started dancing again one week ago yesterday.
My goal is to save $20k this year. So far I'm at $750. I think this is pretty doable, as I did the math and that means I only have to save $500 a week...and I'd be a pretty shitty stripper if I couldn't count on $500 a week minimum. Plus, this time will be very different than my last time dancing because now I'm married and my husband is pulling in good money. So almost all of my earnings can go into savings.
Very excited!!!

^^^ as a former New Yorker, as well as a former spouse, I should make the comment that if your husband is pulling in good money, that both his earnings as well as your own earnings are going to be subject to high federal and state tax rates as a result of your added dancing income. I don't mean to pour cold water on your optimism, just to make you aware that probably 35-40% of your dancing earnings will wind up going to taxes ( 15% SSI tax plus 15-20% federal tax plus 3-6% NY tax ), and that an additional 5-10% of your husband's earnings will wind up going to taxes as well. This is due to your combined income pushing both of you into a higher tax bracket.

Off the wagon for the momentThe club has been supremely shit lately. Like, several days where most dancers go with a few or no dances. I need to get the f outta here.

^^^ there you go ... tax free beats taxable every time !!!

Ok, I have been asleep at the wheel. I just bought put a big down payment for my car. I'm not at $0 savings, but I love new beginnings so for the sake of this thread I'm starting at zero, with a 10k goal. My expenses really are high, so in addition to making money at work, I'm looking for realistic ways to slash my expenses enough to save a little more.
Last year I would put half my money in checking, and half in savings, but I'm thinking of trying to use envelopes instead to see how that works for me.

I realised I never posted I hit my first $10k... As soon as I had it.. most of its gone to booking our return flights to the states and vegas and miami accommodation. Onto the 2nd $10k - still need internal flights, NYC accommodation and play money! Time is running out though. I need to up my game.
Dear self,
Keep up the good work! It's been tough with the expenses associated with homeownership, renovations and finally learning how to drive (late bloomer!), but you're getting there slowly. Keep working hard and living frugally, you should hit your goal by August.
Love,
Me.
x

Back on the wagon big time!

Ohhh what a fun thread. I'm in if it's not too late. I have to pay off my cc ($600) and then I need to save up for insurance and bonding for my vanilla company. I'd like to save around $30k this year but I'll start at 10k because by next year I'd like to put $10k down on my phone sex company and hire a manager and girls to take calls. Right now my sites are in limbo and I'm only taking a few calls. I also want to lose 50lbs.

Hit my second $10K of the year... I wanna have another $16K in my savings... just over $25K before I leave. I only have 8 weeks to do it but dammit! Im gonna try.
I am definitely in! I am just starting out as a dancer. In fact, I haven't started yet. I start June 5th in Vegas due to pre-planned vacation. Just have to find a club to hire me (I know, I know... that is a big step). I have an absurd amount of credit card debt, student loans and a car loan. Apprx. 60k for all of them combined. Ridiculous. But I am determined to cut that amount in half (at least) this year and put $10,000 in savings. I have a long list of things I want to buy (boobs, nose, better apartment in a better area, etc.) but getting myself out of debt is something I have been wanting to do for years!!! I cammed for a little while but I couldn't cam regularly because of my roommate. I made a lot of money doing that and paid some things off, but I still have plenty left. Finally taking steps to do it.. i.e. dancing in clubs like I've always wanted to. I'm determined. SW has been a huge help so far!

Yup ... me too ( going over my investment return numbers ). The SDS shares ( 2 times inverse S&P Index ETF ) I bought in late March were rising quite a bit before, but last week's announcement of problems at JP Morgan just caused them to LEAP up in value !!!Hit my second $10K of the year

Hit 10k last night! Woooo!
Too bad more than half of it is going to go towards my boob job next month. XD But worth it!
Im in! Reading through the posts, you ladies are my inspiration10K into saving & then i'll get a car & my boobies augmented. I want to get a brazilian butt lift too. I may get that before the augmentation though
