    Default Pain/bruises?

I was wondering how everyone deals with the aches and pains of working? I do A LOT of pole work which results in a lot of bruises and a lot of damage to my joints. I have tendinitous in both of my shoulders, endless knots in my back and a badly bruised wrist. I don't know if I have to just tough it out or if there are some tips and tricks I can learn from. I take Flex-a-min everyday, bath in epsin salt once a week and take OTC pain relievers but nothing seems to be enough.

Arnica is a life saver. I use it in gel form. http://www.amazon.com/Boiron-Homeopa...6823457&sr=8-3
It really cuts down on bruising/healing time, and it helps a little for the pain too.
They have it at my local Walgreens, so it shouldn't be too hard to find. Iron supplements are also a good idea.

Also, after dancing for a few months I decided to take a pole class just to help me work on my moves and pick up skills I was having trouble learning on my own. I'm so glad I did it, because I learned that the way I was doing pole tricks was unnecessarily hard on my body. Once I learned the proper technique, I didn't get bruised NEARLY as much. So it might be worth one class (if you haven't already) just to see if there's any way you can refine your pole and floor work technique so it's not quite so hard on your body.

I will definatly have to check that Arnica stuff out! I have been doing pole work for 2 or so years but just recently started dancing. The only thing I can think of is to lay low on the pole work during the week

Yeah, I've noticed that amazing pole tricks don't always = tons of money. Maybe save the pole moves for times when you have an enthusiastic crowd that is tipping for pole tricks? Otherwise, I would just focus on your sexy low impact dance moves. You might be surprised how far good eye contact and smiling on stage will get you, and it's a lot easier on your body!
