I don't know anything about the diet but maybe you can have this?

I've tried it and I think its really delicious!

I eat it the way I'd eat rice.

Anytime you can use rice, I use quinoa. They have quinoa salads and I even make a quinoa pudding (instead of rice pudding). I even put it in my homemade soup.
+1 for quinoa salad

I cook up a batch, scoop a tblspoon or two of coconut oil, and add nutritional yeast (b vitamins, protein, tastes cheesy/nacho-y) and tumeric.
If I'm in the mood for a salad I'll make pico de gallo and chop up an avocado and add it to 1/4 or a half cup of quinoa.
Both are super filling and great for carb cravings. Sweet potatoes are also a great source of clean carb fuel.

I cook it with a little less water than the directions suggest... I don't like mushy quinoa. I also add a bullion cube into the water and it tastes savory & fucking amazing. I use it as a side dish with just about everything.

So can quinoa be found in any grocery store, like where the rice would be?? Sorry, just never noticed it before and Ive heard nothing but good things about it so I wanna start keeping it in the house. Everyones ideas for it sounds delish btw!

Had it for the 1st time yesterday, (sampled @ Trader Joe's) Luv It! They cooked w/chicken broth, some crumbled cheese, & some onion. They said it has some protein value I think?
Try making it Spanish-style or try stuffing red bell peppers with quinoa and herbs and stuff. YUM

This seems to be a quasi-official web site:

It's so wonderful. If you brown it in a little bit of olive oil before adding water (then add water and cook abt 15 min covered) , it will have a slightly nutty flavor and be a lot less plain.
I use it wherever I would use rice. Stirfry, etc. It's also good by itself with a little garlic powder on it.
If you're dieting, be careful what you add. Chicken flavor cubes contain a lot of sodium. Cheese? Fat and sodium. Try other things for flavor... pretty much any seasoning except salt... but you can add some salt (table salt isn't the majority of the sodium in our diets) just don't go crazy.
And, yes, quinoa contains protein... enough to take notice if you're a vegetarian or trying to cut out fattening meats.

I cook it in place of rice. Whenever a recipe calls for rice, I use quinoa instead. Unless I'm in the mood for rice. Then I have rice lol.
