    Crossfingers Pre-pole dancing practise?

So I want to start pole dancing lessons next year, and thinking of working as a dancer when I move to the city in September.

I can't have a pole where I live now, does anyone know of any good DVDs for flexibility that I can get in the UK that don't need a pole? For learning the splits, etc., getting some strength in my limbs, and toning up?

There are some great flexibility tutorials on youtube. Maybe you could try there first.

I would first work on my arm strength. I couldn't do a thing on the pole at first since I have long, no muscle arms. Before you do pole classes, start doing push ups or pull ups so you can get the most of your class.

Depending on where you live in the UK there are a few very good pole dancing classes and schools available. Some strings of gyms also offer pole/stretch classes, the same goes for certain strip clubs, again, depending on where you live. A lot of sex/dance wear shops have pole studio's attached to them nowadays here too so if you can find one which will let you practice in then its all good. Work on your core and arm strength and go from there, like the other girls said, youtube is the Mecca of self help video's!

PM me if you want any info (Im UK too) and ill help as much as i can!
