Raise Your Rates - Challenge!

To keep in line with the 'Please. Stop. Being. Cheap!" thread I think we should start an on-going, never-ending 'challenge'.


(I am going to use SM as an example throughout this post - if you are camming through a different site, change what you're doing to reflect this)




Camgirls, Porn Stars, Escorts. Anyone in the adult industry - we are a luxery!

Edit to add: If this wasn't camming and it was a peep show, a face-to-face show in RL? Would you let me, or any of these gross men watch you for $3??? for 10 minute show? Why not double or triple that price? We all know they can afford it! Just because we are behind the comfort of a computer doesn't make it any different.


And now we are getting guys who think we are worth LESS than an item off the Dollar Menu??? This is SO wrong, and we need to change that mindset.


Do not give 'deals' or 'specials' or any kind of fucking discount. We are selling our BODIES - not end tables or computer desks from KMart. Pounding pussy in free chat for $1?? Have some self-respect for yourself!





That said, I challenge you all to:



Raise your prices:


Privates: If your private and/or exculsive prices are in the $1 - $2.99 range? Bump them up to $3.00 - $3.99! There is NO reason they should be any lower than $3. You and your body are worth more than a dollar! Always, always, always!

If you are in the $3 range already, bump your prices up to the highest they can go. Or email SM tech support to raise them even higher if you feel you want to do that.


If you are happy with your exculsive and private rates, raise your GOLD show prices!!




Gold Shows: Don't do anything less than a $1 Gold per minute. Example: So if you are doing an 8 minute show, don't have anything less than an $8 buy in. Make it a $10 or $15 buy in!


(The guys who complain? Are BROKE. Don't listen to them! How can they take you private for double or triple that price but can't afford an $8 gold show?? Think about it ladies!


Also keep in mind that low, low prices encourages pirating! You get cheap scum in your show, who records it and shares or sells it with the world for FREE. If we all start doing $1 shows this scumbag could get 10+ shows a day - an hour of of privates for only $10. Yes, there is no way to prevent pirating - but if they are going to do it, make them pay out the ass for it!!!!)


Other sites: If you do Skype/Indy shows, raise your prices - even if it's $0.50 - it does make a difference! If you do phone sex, or clips or sell content somewhere, raise those too!


We already have seen through letters to SOPA and Occupy Wallstreet that big numbers and a voice can change a mindset and make things happen. It won't make it completely go away but we can make a dent and show and encourage girls to raise their prices, and to 'tell' men that we are worth it again. If anything it will benefit YOU because you know you are worth more!




Challenge Rules:


Raise your rates and stick to them. Try it for two weeks, consistantly.
DO NOT lower them if it is slow. Stick with it.

When you are done with the two weeks, ask yourself:

Has your earning average gone up?
Do you have more repeat customers?
Do you have longer shows?
How is the quality of the customers you are seeing? (are they nasty or nicer when they are in your room?)

My rates are pretty consistently at 3.99, but I definitely don't think cam models should go lower than that, especially if you are casting in HD, speak English well, and put on a good show as I'm sure most of the ladies on this board do.

I just recently opened my new SM account (changed to daily pay), and I started my private rate at $1.99 (step1-2-3 show with zero special request) with exclusive at $3.99 (special request & fetish friendly). I have only logged on one day and still only have 4 stars. Should I still raise my prices? I don't want to be one of those girls "with the cheap shows" but I thought it was a fair price as a starter rate for a simple show.

ALSO, what HD cam do you use? I try to cam in HD and it tells my my webcam isn't supported for HD?! I have the logitech pro 9000.

Remember my post about 0,99 per minute couples? I just lurked on SM and I realized they probably work for a studio (same wording, same kind of photos, same country, etc.). Wow. Please dear studio owners, you raise your prices too! I promise you'll make more profit! I promise your models will be happier and will work for you longer! I don't even want to think about how much they make at 0,99/2 minus SM's cut, minus studio's cut. I tell you I have 10-15+ minute privates and much much less 2 minute men since I've raised my prices. I'm happier because it's a good feeling to be more expensive!

I didn't start off very low (maybe around $3/min range I think, I don't really remember). Since I've raised my rates to $4.99 Exclusive/ $6.99 Premium my shows are much longer and the guys are more respectful. When I was at $3/min I would get tons of guys barking orders at me or only staying for 1-2 mins. Now, I might have a couple of 3-5 min shows in a night but most of my shows are 10 mins or more with plenty of 15, 20 or 30+ minute shows in there too.

What's starting to really piss me off is the limit SM puts on how much guys can spend on the site in a day. I know it's to help protect them in case of fraud but it sucks for me when a guy gets bumped out of private because he hits his limit (and I'm sure it sucks for the guy too). I usually let them know that they can contact support and get their limit raised but they either 1. don't wanna contact support, 2. contact support but support never gets back to them, or 3. contact support and support tells them they're too new to have their limit raised. From my calculations, the limit for new customers has to be around like $200. MFC has limits but I think it's several hundred dollars and they cover charge backs too. Bah. /OT rant

I wonder if buy in to gold shows were higher and the over all amount was less. Maybe there wouldn't be much time in free chat? I don't know but I've been watching some gold shows lately and the buy in is cheap usually $1-$4 bucks yet the guys are in the room talking the model to death. Why not a $10 or $15 buy in with less guys. I'm not sure if that would work but just wondered if that would be easier to obtain from a few guys rather than needing 20+ guys to complete the goal. Like a $100 goal would only need 10 guys vs $100 goal needing 20-30 guys. I know some guys pledge more but it's usually just one guy in the group which typically he would expect better treatment for his requests. Perhaps after a few gold shows guys that didn't put in on the last would go into the next one? The one that keeps coming into your room before and after goal with no money could just be banned when you return since he's in there for that free view attention countdown time.

I just watched a model earlier and she needed about 56 guys to put up money for 1 show. When if the buy in was higher she could do more show with less guys which would allow her to make more money with the guys that didn't get in for the following shows. I could be wrong on this concept but perhaps it may be easier and faster to do.

$10 per guy x 10 guys= $100
you get: $3.50 per guy x 10 guys= $35.

Now imagine if those 50 guys put in 10 bucks a piece? $500
you get $175 of that.

I think most gold shows are priced too cheap. Or is it better for a bunch of people to be begging all together like animals? Maybe it's better when there is so much typing that it cancels them out at some point? I don't know for certain.

Think about if you could do 10 gold shows a day with maybe 40 mins in between each gold show. Log off do make a snack and come back later on and do another. You probably would be less stressed and earn more money in less time.

There was a certain model, everyone knows who she is. . that does gold shows.
Don't want to cause any problems here, just want to share my observation. "3 dollar buy in, ? minute(dont remember how long, but it was long!) extreme hardcore show". Did not make the goal, guys saying open your ass your stupid whore squirt again bla bla bla."
She changed her buy in to 10 dollars. Made the goal in 5 minutes and some of those "squirt again whore" guys left.
ANYONE can do this.
I hope nobody yells at me for this. I am just saying. . she did a good thing. She raised her prices and then made her goal.

To echo Hayden - if youre anxious about raising your prices, if youre on a site where you can up it by like 5-10 cents or can raise your tokens goal by 50-100, even do that and just try it out. I get why ppl would be nervous abt trying this for gold shows though but for everything else if youre nervous no one will buy, trust someone will. Even if youre in free longer youll probably have to put in less actual hours online which will prevent burnout. If youre burnout prone (holla) this helps tremendously.

Shit up your clip prices and average cost of gift items on your wishlists while youre at it.
