Default Who should the customer tip???

I understand the waitress, and of course the bartender, but everytime I do back room dances/30min's I am always asked to tip everyone and their mother. Keep in mind nothing shady is happening so im not trying to keep eyes off but, but who should really be tipping these bouncers? Doesnt the girl tip out at the end of the night? If its the norm, then fine. Just double checking to see what others do.

I don't know if it's proper or not but I'm not tipping a bouncer.

I've never tipped a bouncer. They serve no purpose to customers, beyond the entertainment value... watching them act like they're part of some elite, special forces unit. I was cracking up about a month ago over a bouncer. He had the earpiece in and all. He walks by my table in a real rush, talking into his shoulder, "Moving to zone 6." Give me a fck'n break! What's zone 6?? You can see every inch of this place from the door!

I can see this helping the dancer more then me.....the bouncer might recommend the dancer who he gets the most tips from and also maybe let us know that "time is up" a few mins early.........so unless I am getting some extra's why do dancers always ask to tip these guys?

I tip the dancers, bartender/waitress, bathroom attendent and valet. But that's not SC-specific - I'll do the same at a restaurant, bar, etc. A college friend of mine was a waitress, and I remember how much tips really helped her make ends meet since her pay sucked. So I guess in a way, I'm always thinking of her when I tip (provided the service level is decent).

BUT all that being said, the only time I tipped a bouncer was when he went above and beyond to help me in a particular situation. Otherwise, I don't really interact or get a specific service from them, so I never felt the need to tip.

    That's not a bouncer, its a host.

My best guess is that any dancer asking you to tip anyone (bouncers, hosts, waitresses, etc.) is trying to get you to pay HER tip outs. She may have a certain amount she has to pay the support staff at the end of the night, and if she gets some of her customers to pay a little here and there throughout her shift, she can take more home for herself.

I've dated a couple of waitresses in my past and would hear some horror stories of shitty tips left so now I tip 15% for bad service and go up from there.

Actually this site has had the same effect on me when tipping in the club. Hearing some of the horror stories from the dancers here, my tips have been bigger there as well.

Well I have never tipped the bouncers, never thought they worked on tips. I tip any dancer who is preforming on stage, can't just sit there, watch the entire performance and not tip, seems wrong to me. I tip the bartender and if there is a waitress I tip her too.

Sometimes a bouncer is the host. They sign you in, set the clock, collect the room fee, and send the waitress over. I always tipped them when doing the 15 min CR's but the thought always was they'd give you a few extra minutes or at least give you maximum privacy,

honestly, i'm still not sure what the purpose of a host is, but it seems like when the customers tip them, the customer feels like he's buying more privacy.

the earpieces, sloppy suits, and feigned formalities look absolutely ridiculous to me.

In some clubs, as Bem mentioned, the bouncer may also be the guy who sets you up in the C-room. Depending on the club I will either tip them or give the dancer a few extra bucks to tip them. Most of the clubs I go to will never be confused for high-roller type GC's. There are no true "hosts", just bouncers or even barmaids doing the job of traffic flow in and out of the private rooms. Barmaids and waitresses are working for customer tips so I always tip generously. I don't tip bouncers just for being bouncers, I don't tip DJ's, I don't tip managers.

The guys(sometimes women too) who run a transaction on your credit card or collect cash, tell you your room options and pricing, etc are hosts. Customers, no matter what should tip them. They expect it.

Every club is different though. In some clubs, the strippers must tip out hosts a percentage if they did a VIP room. It is mandatory. Some clubs the girls don't have to, but its best she gives something if she wants hosts to hook her up with good customers.

If you didn't tip, a lot of her earnings will go to a host...that's why you should tip the host. If not, that VIP room with a non tipping customer is not gonna be worth a stripper's time.

Another thing, if that host doesn't get a tip, they will not work well with her bc she is bringing in customers who don't tip.

There is already thread upon thread about tipping dancers. In the interest of keeping this on topic, lets keep this thread about support staff. K?

    I forgot to add too....

If you're a customer that likes VIP rooms and the hosts remember you tipping(esp a good tipper), next time you visit they will hook you up. Whether it be a free drink, reduced room fee or set you one of the nicer/bigger rooms for the same price as the smaller/mediocre room, set you with a type of girl you'd specifically like. Little things like that to make you happy.

In some clubs, he is buying more privacy, though obviously this is not universally the case in all clubs.

Overall, I tend to be fairly generous in my tipping of club staff. Over the years, I firmly believe that this practice has helped me much more than it has hurt me.

Bartenders and wait staff are the most obvious recipients, as are valets and coat check girls. I am also prone to throw a couple of bucks to the bathroom trolls and door staff (when there is a tip jar). I have also been known to request certain songs from DJs, for which I also tip nicely. And there is no doubt that, when I am heading into a VIP/CR situation that the host/door monitor is getting some money for his pocket. I have also received a variety of other one-off services from bar backs, door guys and so-called "managers" over the years, including store runs, food orders, mapping of routes around DUI checkpoints, bringing "friendly" girls by my seat, and a variety of other odds and ends, all of which resulted in tips.

Now I don't go crazy with it, but IMHO a solid tipping approach can greatly enhance one's experiences in some clubs. In my particular case, the fact that I am generous with the staff also helped me out of a few jams.

You're asked to tip more than the dancer? Wow, they have a great little scam going. Hon, you're in control of your wallet, which means you're in control of your spending. Tip whomever you please (or not as the case may be).

Waitresses and female bartenders always get tipped.
I have never had to deal with hosts, shot girls, coat check girls or door girls. But since they're female I suppose I would tip them too.

Valets, bouncers, floaters generally get a sneer from me as I walk by. Nothing more.
I did tip a men's room bathroom troll once just so he'd let me get the hell out of the men's room.

I don not really tip. The GM sets up my cr time and a host, who is very cool, is assigned to check in. I thought it to be etiquette for the dancer to tip. On occasion I will too, but at $400/hr to the dancer for x hrs, I don't see the need
