I couldn't find a thread for this.
How much is your internet bill per month and if you have Comcast, which package do you have?
I currently have the Blast package and get 6.27 mbps upload speed, but my stream is slow when I run the encoder.

I don't know what an encoder is and I cam haha. I have Comcast standard cable and internet with router so I just have wifi for my laptop/phone. It seems pretty fast to me never had any connection issues.I pay 79.99 per month cable is 39.99 and internet is 35 I think..with tax n stuff its 80/month.

I believe I paid $100 for cable and internet. I had Comcast.

I pay $80 a month for internet but I have the fastest internet possible for my area.

$72I know it's not relevant because I'm not from the US I just wanted to take the opportunity to brag about my upload speed
(which is in the speedtest result thread) Lol.

The one curse of living down here 'way south of the border' is that there is one and only one truly high speed internet provider ... the former 'banana republic' national telecom company ... with truly high speed internet service costing US $250 per month.
It's rumoured that many important local politicians are also stockholders in the national telecom company, which explains both the high 'monopoly' pricing levels plus the inability of would-be competitors to obtain gov't licenses. Even the satellite internet providers, which can offer fast download but slow upload for < US $100 a month, aren't allowed to publicly advertise !
I pay $80.00 a month for the high speed Bell internet stick in Canada.
Orginally around $65 with a 7$ dollar modem. Its 60GBS a month,
After discounts and all it comes down to abot 53 before Canadian tax (which kills the discounts) is 60 after tax. Im in Canada

I pay $49.00 a month. I don't have stable housing sooo I have Clear 4g wimax. I only get an upload speed of 2.25 mpbs.

My download speed is 50 mbps and my upload is 2 mbps and I pay over $100 a month just for internet. I am in Canada.
In South Korea internet speeds are the fastest in the world, they are supposed to bring public wifi up to 1 gbps (yes gigabite, not megabite. So 1 gbps is around 1,000 mbps). However they have some really backwards porn laws, which are seldomly enforced but if and when they come for you...well be prepared to pay thousands in fines. There was a case of a teacher who was discovered to be a "porn star" in Canada. When she got back to Korea, and the Korean authorities found out (one of her students in Korea informed them) they fined her despite the fact that doing porn is perfectly legal in Canada. She was fined 10 million won, which is around $10,000 US. She did all her porn in Canada when she was here studying, none of it was done in Korea. But its illegal for a Korean national to be involved in immoral activity, even if they did it in a country where it is illegal. They won't go as far as "recalling" you (ie requesting extradition), but you do get punished once you get back to Korea. Its why I would never live there myself even though I am a Korean national by naturalization. God if they found out what I and other family members have been doing in Canada...well lets just say we would be either in jail or with heavy fines as we would not be considered "of good moral conduct". And before anyone asks, no my family members have not done porn, but most have done something Korea would consider unclean (ie criminal record for selling drugs, fighting, guns, bad business practices, having mental health problems, being on welfare at some point, etc).
Korea is not a popular immigration country despite that there are many expats there. Its a nice place to visit, stay a few months, earn some money, but definitely not a place to stay. Don't get me wrong, its very modern and perhaps "nicer" then 95% of Canadian/American cities, but there are some very backwards laws there.
For example if my brother were to return to Korea (even though he was born in the USA and holds both a Canadian and American citizenship) he would automatically be on their radar for military service. All Korean men have to serve 2 years in the military. Thus he is too scared to even go there as a tourist. A man can claim it violates his human rights, but there is due process to claim that in Korea.
Problem is Korea is going to be facing a population crisis, lots of citizens are aging. http://askakorean.blogspot.com/2011/...impending.html
They have recently loosened their citizenship requirements and allowed dual citizenship to immigrants who have no korean family. It used to be that the only way one could have dual citizenship was if one of your parents was born in Korea and you were born outside the country.
The 1 gbps internet speeds, nearly everything being open 24/7, excellent education system, booming economy (its hard not to have a job, yes really it is over there) are all awesome things about Korea. And for those reasons I would not mind living there for a few years. But what puts me off from living there permanently is some of their anti sex work laws, torture and eating of cats and dogs (many places boil them alive in pressure cookers), mandatory military service for all males and other repressive laws. Not to mention the high cost of living there and being a Korean that was born outside of the country is not very socially acceptable over there.
I like to think how awesome camming would be from Korea and how the internet is so fast for next to nothing. But I would be too scared to cam from there for fear of the police. In a way I find it hard to believe such a technologically advanced country would have such repressive laws. Granted for the most part porn is rarely prosecuted (I know lots of people over there that claim to watch porn every day and have never had police knock at their door), but I would hate to be unlucky. Also since it's hard not to have a job over there and people generally have money (condos cost around $1-2 million there for a place that's like a sardine can) I have to wonder what would happen if these men were allowed to be customers. I mean imagine all the potential customers in the east...China, Korea, Japan, India, Iran....wow if only they were allowed to access streamate we would be ballin' ladies! Now I know some of you ladies are thinking they might be cheap, however these places are prosperous. If any of you have been to Korea or Japan or even say Istanbul Turkey...these are very wealthy cities.I have only been to Seoul Korea, but I am sure places like Japan or UAE or Turkey are just as advanced and wealthy.

I just joined up with another company who offer free broadband for three months. Then after its £10. So am only paying for the line rental at the moment.
Don't Like Me? Have A Seat With The Rest Of The Bitches And Bastards Waiting For Me To Give A Flying Fuck.
BT Broadband and phone combined £30 (free evening and wekend calls). Also gives me free BT OpenZone access when I'm out and about, which was a bigreason for signing up to them but OpenZone is ruubish...too slow even to check emails. The Home Broadband is good though and very reliable.

I pay $60 a month, for 10mbps upload. I am in the US, in an area where there are several ISPs so the competition = good rates and good speeds![]()
I pay $40 for medium speed internet using the only company available in my area....it works for now
im in the us. i pay 19.95 a month because i signed into a year long contract deal that i cant break... which is fine cause im always going to need the internets, its through at&t and when the contracts up it'll probably be about 40 a month. its not the fastest but it gets the job done!

Jeez your prices are way high in the US! I pay £15 per month for broadband and phone combined with Plusnet.

In US, I have 10mbps/download and 1mbps/upload plus cable for $50/month. I can upgrade for $10 per additional 10mbps/download and 1mbps/upload all the way up to 50/down and 5/up. I get by just fine with what I have now.
$30/month Comcast 4 up/20 down. It's their regular plan, no boost.
Edit to add: I don't have any issues running the encoder and HD at this speed.

I have Comcast also. I have an Xfinity bundle, phone internet and cable, it runs 139.99 and then I added faster internet. The extreme package was 50 more a month and it gives me download of 61.79 and upload of 11.13. Not sure how much a difference it has made in my placement because my mom has been sick this month and I have not worked much since Christmas and that was about when I upgraded. Hope that helps...

Comcast Xfinity $100 a month just for internet, but 100mpbs. It is the fastest I can get.
I bought my own modem at Radio shack for $50, so I don't rent one from comcast. Plus is was faster than the ones they offered.
Really don't know how ya'll get anything done with under 50mpbs.
Basic Comcast internet if 15mpbs. Which is to slow for camming in my mind.
Also with the 100mpbs I can get through alot of emails and such with the faster speed. Upload clips to c4s in under a minute each.
You can take the expense off your taxes.
Internet is my job all day long. I need the fastest possible to get things done. It is money well spent.
I call about once a year and see if I can get any faster. You never know.
Smooches,

my only options are knology and at&t, and the highest upload speed both offer for my area is 1mb/s. i have knology's highest package because when i first moved in, at&t didn't offer u-verse in my apartment complex. it's $70/month for 1mb/s upload and 50 mb/s download.

I have Uverse 200 and uverse high speed internet with AT&T and u pay like 60 something total for the package.
