Default How to keep burnout at bay.

I been reading threads about burnout and I keep reading about when it happens you just take a few weeks off to regroup. But what about before? I thought I should make a thread about it. I find little things can really help keep burnout away.

In the bathroom I have three categories. Relax, invigorate, and work. I have different shampoos, conditioners, and body washes for each, it helps keep work at work and home at home. For me its scents, I relax dreaming of the ocean, I wake up in the forest gathering herbs to cook with, I work to the scent of lemon like a glass of lemonade for a day of work. I find that burnout can happen faster if you use the same scent everyday for everything, something bad happens at work.. it can follow you with your perfume causing you to stress just having a cup of coffee.

Have a meal waiting for you at home. Something good for you waiting on a plate in the fridge or the wonderful crock pot. We get tired.. We don't want to cook.. We end up going to some fast food place and sometimes get mad at ourselves for it. A good meal at home helps keep us healthy, on track, and not hungry.

Have a passive hobby. Something simple, it can be reading, writing your day.. and make a home for it. I like to garden food plants cause it makes me feel happy to come home to see I have a fresh ripe tomatoes waiting for me.

Have your home inviting. Now I know we have stress at home but after work you want to sleep with little worry. But let it be for the morning. Put bills out of sight when you walk thru that door. Make it smell nice, I'm a sucker for spice market.. now if only they would make it a plug in..

Make a treat for yourself, I like making cookies so I make the dough and wrap it up. I come home and make myself a few cookies to treat myself.

Take your vitamins. They really do help your mood. I take one for body and another for hair, skin, and nails. You be amazed how helpful it is to you.

These are a few things I do. What do you do to keep burnout away?

    this is a great thread.

I just got over some burnout and have found that separating my work life from my home life / rest of my life is the biggest part of that. When I come home, I don't want to stress about work etc. I just want to love my pets, watch some TV. etc.

the best way for me to prevent burnout though is to quit stripping when it's BAD and do something else to make money in the meantime (cam etc).

Travel. If I must work but am dreading going in to my home club I pick another state, preferably a warm location if it's cold here, and leave. A new location always helps me.

New work clothes/shoes/jewelry/makeup. Gives you a little something to look forward to.

Pamper yourself. Get a massage (reflexology really WORKS) a facial, a mani/pedi, hair done. Feel good, look good DO good. lol.

If you can't take an extended break, take a few days off. Sometimes that's all you need to get your hea don straight.
