I'm a student on the side and I do art. I've got a pretty good disguise though. Clip in bangs are a miracle.
I do! I have a very corporate, intense job, and I've just (returned) to dancing as a very occasional, on-the-side sort of thing.
I just graduated with a B.S. in biochemistry, and I'm looking for a part-time job using my degree. I'll definitely still dance. Not worried about anyone finding out, and I'd like to keep going while the money's still ok and I'm not burnt out. Just don't want to waste my degree or take too much time away from science and forget it all...

Yes. I think the important thing is not to 'shit where you eat' if you get my drift.
If your vanilla job is very important to you, then I wouldn't dance anywhere NEAR where I work/live. Travel if you can. Take mini-weekend vacations a few cities over and work your butt off one weekend a month. Don't strip where anyone could find you out. Even if you wouldn't lose your job over it - the office gossip would suck.
I'll be going back to leading the double-life pretty soon too. Good luck op!
I'm dancing my way through nursing school and still work a "normal" restaurant job as a waitress.. I worked at the same place for 2 1/2 years and everyone there including my managers and I think even the owner knew that I danced, I didn't care and neither did they. But I just started at a new, more corporate restaurant chain and plan to keep it under wraps this time around. If someone did find out though, I wouldn't really care...I'm not ashamed of what I do. It's tiring/stressful sometimes having two jobs and going to school, and I know I'd make more money if I just danced but I really like having the normal job. I feel like it keeps me sane and grounded.
I just wouldn't want anyone from my school knowing. And once I do get a job as a nurse I don't plan to keep dancing on the side, pretty sure you can get fired for that.
Career > stripping.
I've recently changed career paths slightly but I used to do higher level marketing and sales. I used to (and still do) strip when I want extra cash or even just to get my head clear (though usually it's the former). I dance in the same city I work for the most part. I also do adult modeling.
I'm not worried about meeting a coworker ITC or having someone see me. 1. My work honestly is convinced that I'm a prude (very amusing to me). 2. I do my job well enough that something like stripping is not going to be a deal breaker.
My performance and professionalism speak for themselves. I've had several job offers from our competitors. I'm not worried.
Do what you want to do in life, but always do it well.
I would strip a few towns over so I could keep my other job so my co workers didn't find out

I never have but am considering it now. I'm starting my first paid internship for an investment/insurance company which is really straight laced, but I'm dying to dance on the side.

None of the people I've every worked with would be caught dead in any of the clubs that would hire me.

Yes I work as a dental hygienist an only a couple of guys know me from dancing they come in an visit, their only regret is that insurance only pays for 2 cleaning!!! And they get an elbow in the lap if they touch!
I have worked 2 jobs simultaneously most of my adult life... Stripping + part time vanilla jobs. Worked in a greenhouse and was recognized by 2 of their employees, who of course told everyone. I didn't get fired, but those guys would make what they thought were witty remarks.
Also worked at a hair and make-up photo studio, and was sexually harassed by my boss (he didn't know about my other job) and eventually had to quit due to his harassment. After quitting the studio, I switched clubs and saw him there, and got scared, embarrassed, etc. Then I was like WTH, took the upper-hand in the situation and asked him for a dance. He shrugged me off. He sure liked looking at and talking about my ass when I worked at the studio, but he pretended not to recognize me in the club! HA!
It's very exhausting trying to juggle a vanilla job and dancing every night, especially when working night shift to close at the club. If you are going to do it, I 100% agree with others that you should go out of town for 1 weekend a month to do it, if you really value your day job. That is the best way to prevent burn out and discovery.

Dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire.

I work in an office, but I still don't really know anybody here and there's little chance I'll run into somebody I know. I know eventually somebody will probably find out and blow the whistle on me, but I'm really kind of past caring. Pays the bills, who are they to judge?![]()

I have a part time job as a teacher's assistant for an after school program. I don't really care if someone spots me in the club, I doubt it ever would happen, and if it should I wouldn't care.

I'm a qualified healthcare professional and danced on the side for 2 months in NZ. I then swapped to stripping full time for a few months. Now I'm back in the UK and starting my vanilla job again. Im going to strip on the side as it's far too tempting not to.
Close friends know, a few at work. I tell customers I work in a hospital but no more than that. I don't really know what would happen if management found out, I'm hoping it'll never happen.

I've had a vanilla job since the beginning of last summer. My boss and his boss know that I used to strip (and my boss reads my comic - not sure about anyone else). I'm planning on doing on occasional-weekend-stripping thing. I won't mention it to them, but I don't think it would be a big deal if they found out.

I did. In fact at one point I was art modeling a few days a week, going to college, working at a radio station AND dancing 3-4 nights a week. I never had free time to spend all the extra money.
I work in an office. I don't mind the job but I would love to dance fulltime-unfortunately I am not making enough money to actually live off. Thing is I have paid off all my debt with dancing and I plan to quit the day job at the latest in June, and dance/cam instead. I hate the corporate industry so much.
My job is lower management,my bosses do not know what I do.
I dance in the town I live in-bit different to it being my 'hometown'I am not from the town I live in so unlikely to run into anybody that matters (family or anything)-people at work a lot of them know I dance and I'm not bothered. I dance in other towns as well.
I've done it on a couple of occasions. While in Massage Therapist school I worked from 3.30-11 after being in class from 9am til 3. Then after the 1st job i would go to the club from 11 until 3. Yea i dropped that 3-11 job after a month because I just didnt have the time to study like I did at the club. Another time I was waitressing in the mornings and dancing at 2 different clubs in the evenings, 1 being an hour drive away. Ive been off the club scene for a while but I as well need to fund my BSN so my 6am morning job may or may not be put on the back burner for the hella club itch i have.

It was very hard but at that point I knew I didn't want to dance fulltime. It's the reason I was able to walk out of the club telling the manager to fuck off.
