When I first started dancing I was inbetween jobs & stripping full-time.

I got a temp vanilla job, but it wasn't consistent work.

Now I recently got a steady, consistent job in the career path I desire, and do plan to continue dancing on occasion (thinking once a week/every two weeks).

Am I worried about my co-workers finding me out? Not at all - I work with all women...But even if they did, I really wouldn't care.

Kelly, do you have any tips or advice on how to have such a busy lifestyle, do it well (good job at work, good grades) and not get burnt out?

lots of nurses on here! nice! we're all a little crazy, aren't we? haha.

i am also an RN and i danced my way through nursing school. i was just recently hired out of state, but i'm keeping my apartment back home, because my schedule allows me to take a week off here and there. guess what i'm doing with that week, lol--yup, flying home--or anywhere--and dancing my ass off. in all seriousness, even though our social customs demand we keep it secret, i've gained a lot of life experience and self-esteem from dancing; that's something no textbook or vanilla job can teach you. i know my self-worth, and will never let anyone trample on it, inside the club or out!

but even though i have a "career" now, i don't think i'll ever be able to quit dancing. once it gets in your blood, it stays forever, doesn't it? plus i won't get as fat as the nurses i'll be working with. ^_^

    awesome thread!

I work 9-5 Monday-Friday and then dance weekends. I'm saving for a house so work during the week doing what I studied at uni then work weekends in the club for the extra cash.

I work for a fairly small organisation that is predominately female (now that I think of it) so I've never had anybody I work with at this job come in. When I was at uni and started dancing, I worked a cafe job for a while whilst dancing and saw people I knew from working there. It was never really a massive issue because it wasn't a professional job, but I suppose you just have to be aware that it can happen, and over a number of years it probably will eventually (if you're dancing in the same area that you work your vanilla job).

Although it's more taxing having two jobs, for me it makes me more focused and make more money when I am stripping. Dealing with customers all day, every day, drives me crazy and burns me out so when I'm only dancing once or twice a week, I can come into work fresh, work hard, put in my best effort and then recharge again for the next weekend.
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

There is a huge difference between dancing full-time and dancing for extra cash on the side of a vanilla job.
