So, I saw Alexandra Potter walking effortlessly in ballet heel boots, and now I'm thinking of trying them myself! Have any of you worn ballet heels? Would you wear them? ballet-heels.com

It WILL destroy your feet, ever seen a ballerina's toes? Obviously you're not entirely on point but with those shoes its damn close. It will hurt and you will bleed, but if you don't really do foot fetish and want to try, give it a go.
lol wut?
I thought about that...and I do foot fetish. I love my feet. Guess I'll just admire from afar lol

Yes, sexy but painful. I would probably just wear them in bed or sitting down or for photos. I wouldn't walk more than a few steps in them.

I've never worn ballet heels, though I dance in pointe at work and at home for fun from time to time and I've never set foot in a ballet class. Keep in mind that with the ballet heels you are always in an almost-pointe position, so I imagine that you wouldn't want to wear them for any extended period of time.

They make you walk in an entirely different way. I've been trying to train myself to walk in them for a few years now and I fail every time. I can get around in 5 and 3/4 inch heels but when you go straight up and down like that...It feels like my foot is trying to forcibly defect from my ankle. Literally, it feels like I'm being pulled apart at the ankle joint. I don't know if there's something wrong with me or if that's normal.
I know a decent number of models who can walk on pointe or whatever it is so I know that people can do it. These girls' feet aren't super fugly or anything, so I think it only wrecks your feet if you do it every day. If you want to try it, go for it, but know that it's REALLY hard to do. You'll want to start training in extremely high heels and then get the ballet boots for the support they provide when you're first training. You don't want to break your ankle falling off your shoes.

You're not meant to walk in them, but they are beautiful.
I read you can get toe cushions for the bottom of the shoes. That might help. if I do but somem I probably wouldn't go very far. I could see doing pictures for heel fetish guys or something. I just love the way they look and they look so amazing when it doesn't look like you're concentrating/struggling lol. I do always wear heels everywhere, but my highest ones are probably 5".
Did you watch the video on that website? She looks so graceful. I could see myself falling though lol

^^Ouch pouches are such a great investment! It also wouldn't hurt to start doing daily exercises to stregnthen your ankles and improve the flexibility of your feet--that might make it a tad easier.

It says on the bottom of http://www.ballet-heels.com/preview/itemlist/tag/ballet this page that: 'I'm ballerina since my age of 6th. The last months I stopped with ballet but now I take again a few lessons a week." So I would imagine that probably contributes to her ability to walk in ballet heels so gracefully.
I am 115-120 lbs 5'7 with good balance, but i don't know. If I do buy some, it'll probably just be for photo/fetish purposes.
I used to do ballet and when we started going on point I quit because starting out is rough, my feet bled (although I am going back, I guess I like the abuse). Those really aren't made for walking in, but are awesome for photos. You some core work? Walk in those babies
lol wut?
I have a pair of ballet boots, and had to modify the heel length in order to stand or walk in them. My feet are small size 6, and maybe the heel was a "standard" size that was intended to fit various larger boot sizes. I cut a small piece off the end of the heel, and it made a world of difference. Mine are pretty flimsy, but there are probably some out there with more reinforcement in the toe. You could get a slightly larger size and put cotton or other padding in the toes.
Dancing is a vertical expression of a horizontal desire.
