Well, you've expressed a desire to change, that's a big step. I'm going to do some googling and see what I can find.
I am confused though - you say you don't want to enter a treatment center, but you're willing to go out of state for a free recovery program? Wouldn't that be very similar?
Also, do you have any family or friends you could stay with/lean on for support while you clean up?
XOXO Darling!
Edit: seems a lot of the informtaion I'm turning up on google about free support centers are very state specific. Hard to find much without knowing your location.

Benzo withdrawal is VERY dangerous and CAN kill you. That should be scarier than going to treatment. If all else fails, go to an ER and tell them you are having benzo withdrawal. They are legally obligated to help you.

Are you eligible for Medicaid? I agree with Mediocrity that you should go to an ER.

Some good reading:
To reiterate again: THIS IS NOT SOMETHING YOU SHOULD ATTEMPT UNSUPERVISED.

Girl, be careful. You can stop breathing and die from a withdrawal. I agree with mediocrity. If you're having a serious withdrawal, go to the ER ASAP.
I'm trying to find somewhere non-profit in Minnesota. I'll let you know if I find anything.
Edit: I found a rehab center that is funded by the State http://www.progressvalley.org/index.html. It might be something to look into.

My friend is having meth withdrawals. Have you looked into 30 day outpatient programs? She saw one for 2 grand in our area..she's also considering going to meetings for 30 days straight instead to help her stay off it and get support so that's something to consider..otherwise there should be free detox centers if you search
I went thru benzo withdrawal back in december. I have no ins. either. I was taking them unprescribed but now I actually have an rx for them. Its hard not to abuse them but I dont. It is VERY scary and tapering down off of benzos takes a while(depending on how much/long you took them).
I applied for state funding and I just heard back from them (2 weeks ago). What a joke. Least in my state.
I am sorry to hear your going thru this. Its HARD.

I dont think you need to go to the ER, your mom would find out and then you would be homeless. How many pills were you taking a day? If it were me I would try to eat healthy food, veggies, lots of coffee, tea and water. Maybe take some ibuprofen and some wine if your feeling really bad. Good luck to you.

I'm really glad to hear that you have decided that this is the time to quit - thats a HUGE decision to make, and you should be really proud of yourself for making it.
I understand not wanting to go to a centre, especially if you have had problems in the past, and bad experiences. Have you gone to NA? The 12 step programs work for so many people, and they are free, confidential, and you can get yourself a sponsor.
As for your living situation, I would consider telling your mom after you have been clean and in a program for a little while (its one of the steps anyway). I understand that if she thinks that you are using, she would kick you out - but do you think that if you told her that you had a problem, but you are going to meetings, and you have been getting clean, she would still kick you out? Or would she support your effort to clean up?
Good luck!
I take cash, debit or credit. I just don't take shit.

States usually have facilities that are state funded, along with facilities that have a specific number of beds open for people without insurance, income, a home (or a combo of all three). Even a few places take payment plans. Try this link: http://www.dhs.state.mn.us/main/idcp...Name=id_000082
During treatment they can help you with a myriad of things - legal, housing, medication, schooling, counseling, whatever you need.
Start at one point and keep calling. YOU are definitely worth it!!
Just wanted to add that state funded facilities for teenagers are very different than the ones for adults. Don't let that scare you away.
