I'm thinking I need to fill my days up with more stuff. I got a new job recently, but the training is very sporadic. I was officially hired last Wednesday, did 3 hours of training Friday, then they called today and said I'm training tomorrow from 11am - 6pm. Even when I'm on the schedule after training, I'm probably only going to be working 30hrs a week so I can keep the job once I go back to school (which will probably be in the summer, spring session is coming up too quickly to be prepared). So I'm still going to have a LOT of free time.
Here's what my day currently consists of:
1pm: Wake up with hubs and make us breakfast. We normally eat this in bed together.
2pm: Go for a 30 minute run.
3pm - 5:30pm: This is the time we run errands if we need to, or hang out together doing whatever before he has to go to work.
5:30pm: I start dinner.
6pm: We eat dinner together. (At the table this time.)
7pm: Hubs goes to work.
7pm - 2am: I clean in bursts.. an hour here, 45 mins here and usually get the house about 3/4 clean. I usually eat about 11pm. I watch TV, I fuck around on the internet. I write and play my music entirely too loud. Sometimes, I Skype with friends for obscenely long amounts of time. Either way this whole SEVEN HOUR BLOCK is free time.
2am: I start preparing hubs' meal for when he gets home. He is usually famished when he gets in. I cook this, pack it up and put it in the fridge. Then I take my shower, wash my hair etc.
Sometimes after this I go to bed.
Frequently after this I wait up for him. He usually comes home between 4 and 5am. We usually go to bed together around 5:30am.
I understand my schedule is backwards, so it makes it hard for socialization. I only have a couple of friends here, and I'm alcohol sober now so I don't go to bars. I also don't like being out by myself without a car after dark (we only have one car and hubs drives it to work). But if any of you could give me SOME suggestion to fill up that huge seven hour block of dead air, that would be GREAT. I know it sounds like I kind of lead a charmed life but sometimes I get painfully bored during that time.
Is this normal? Do people usually do more with their days? Granted his days off are entirely different, we get out and do stuff together... but the five days a week he does work I find myself pretty bored with the whole routine.
Any suggestions?
