Thumbs up Aztec Secret Indian Healing Clay

I read about this a LONGGGG time ago on this forum from Corgan, if anyone remembers her.....

Anyways, I randomly bought some out of sheer curiosity this past weekend, and WOW! I really love this stuff! A big tub of it (powder version) costs around $6, and you are supposed to mix it with equals parts of clay powder and apple cider vinegar, then apply as a mask anywhere on your face or body (or even hair!)

I put it on my face, and on my guy's face/neck. He has a problem with sebaceous cysts, and had one behind his ear lobe slightly larger than a pea. The doctor had given him an antibacterial ointment to apply every night, but it was hard, red, and painful, he said the ointment wasn't working.

I mixed the clay powder with just enough ACV for it to being whipped and smooth with no lumps. We both let it dry for around 30-40 minutes. As it dries, the clay shrinks, which sucks everything out of your pores! You can feel your face pulsating, and it is a little uncomfortable. My face was so tight, I couldn't even smile or talk.

After I rinsed it off, I was so surprised at my complexion..... my pores were completely gone, they had just vanished. I've used many products to help conceal large pores or control oil, but nothing has even come close to how well this worked! My skin was unbelievably soft and exfoliated, without using any chemicals or scrubbing. Also, my face was red for a good 45 minutes, which tells me this mask really got the blood circulating! My guy went to bed after this, and woke up with that cyst about 30% gone. It was no longer hard and painful, it was soft and you can tell it's dissipating. This worked better than that antibiotic ointment he had prescribed. I don't have bad acne, but I will continue to use this treatment at least once a week.... I love this stuff! And for that price, everyone should run out and buy it!

    Neat!

I think it'd buy it just for the 'fun factor' if nothing else. I loved those Pore Strips that you'd put on your nose and peel off to get the blackheads out.....This sounds like it would be an even bigger version that you don't have to rip off. FUN!

Not a lot of places to shop where I live, but I'll see if they have it in the health store and the beauty supply store. I have very sensitive skin....wonder how this will work out....

I love love love this stuff! I get some sort of satisfaction when I peel pieces of the dried clay off my face and see the whiteheads lifted out of my pores.

Yeah, bentonite clay is the business. Using it on your hair as a clarifying mask works great too.

You know, I've been tempted to pick this up when I've seen it but haven't yet.

I'll have to check that out.

If you have any lavender essential oil, supposedly that's really good for shrinking cystic acne.

I rarely get cysts, but occasionally I also use the mayo trick of putting a dollop of mayonnaise on
the cyst for a few hours (or overnight with a bandaid) to draw all that bacteria and pus to the surface
and have mostly been pleased with it.

I've also been researching acid peels and have you tried putting a smidge on the cyst? I'm not sure
whether it just dries the top or actually gets underneath to something as deep as a cyst.

In any event, that's really cool about the clay!

The bad reviews on amazon are soooo bogus. Some girl said 2 1/2 weeks later her face is horribly disfigured after using it once.... not possible! It's just clay and vinegar, give me a break!

I have this in my cabinet too! Bought it on vitaminshoppe.com. Love that store, have a shipment of stuff coming to me today from em'. And I actually just did a clay mask yesterday w/tea tree oil in it. I remember the first time I applied this stuff right after I received it in the mail and I was so shocked at how much it pulsates! Just pay attention to the directions on the container and follow to a T because I tried using a metal spoon once or twice, forgetting your not supposed to and it was quite lumpy, so only plastic or wooden spoon will do, same goes for the bowl/container you use to stir this stuff in.

While I do love this stuff I find I still have those stubborn black heads on my nose. And I tried applying the mask 3 times in a week hoping maybe that would rid me of them but they still stayed and my skin was a lil too dry afterward. I think Im best off only using once or twice a week, so if anything ladies make sure you dont overdo it if your skin tends to get dry anyhow.
Theres all kinds of recipes online for the mask, but I havnt messed around w/variations too much. I will be looking though for one for blackheads. I hate these darn things!! lol

So I mixed the ACV with the clay la la la, put it on mah face. I left it on for like 30 minutes and it felt super fun on my face, kind of tight and hot but in a good way. I removed the mask with warm water and my face was red for about a half hour. After the redness died down my face felt very smooth but I didn't really notice anything different. I will keep using it maybe 3x a week though and see if anything happens. It was a fun, relaxing Sunday night activity, though.

Cool, the swap meet I love sells this stuff and now I'm going to have to get some. I love apple cider vinegar and currently use it as a toner, but will try it in the Aztec clay too.

Just wanted to say thanx for this thread. After reading this thread I did some research and decided to try this clay. I have been using it 2-3x's a week for the last month or so and my skin looks great! I have struggled with acne my whole adult life (I'm 33) and since using this stuff I have had very few breakouts and my skin is so soft!! I love it!
