    Default Driving Traffic

So I'm having my first bad night on cam, only made $90 in 7 hours and my chat room is so quiet! I mean, it's not like it's really ever busy but that's never stopped me making good money. And seeing as how I don't really have anything else to do, I'm lying here trying to figure out what I can do to get guys into my chat room (besides the obvious like promote on Twitter or dance around naked ) To be honest, I'm not too fussed about how long guys stick around once they're in there, but I'm sure I could be getting more guys coming in. Anyone got any suggestions for how I can get myself noticed more?

It depends what you're looking for. Are you looking to gain your own traffic, keep the traffic already in your room, or get paying traffic (token tippers)? It also depends if you want this for a specific site (and it matters which site it is too), or for your brand/persona in general. And it matters how much (time mostly, but I guess money too) you want to invest in this, how much you have already invested in this, and what your goals are in the adult industry.

If you want to keep guys in your room or get the to start spending if they're already there: be creative. Lots of games (MFC only really), lots of creativity, set yourself apart, make your niche clear (or find one if you don't have one), play up the stereotype you look like you'd fit the best, keep your persona uniform (always act the same way so they know what to expect). Looks sell. Doesn't mean you need to spend a fortune or look perfect, but you should spend a lot of time on your appearance and setting up your room so its interesting. Colors, details, uniqueness, etc. Men are attracted to that.

If you're looking for long-lived traffic and how to grow your brand as much as possible, I'd say hire a promo team or do the work yourself. One of the ones I like just posted this great article. This sounds spammy, but its actually pretty helpful (and no I'm not affiliated with them):

    "What Exactly Is a Publicist?:

Posted on February 9, 2012 by Erika Icon:

A lot of people don’t understand what PR is and what a publicist does—they assume publicists are agents, managers or even (God forbid) assistants. I’d like to clear up this confusion.

Publicists make you famous—our job is to get your name out there. This can equate to more work and more money, but not always right away. I get my clients interviews (radio, Internet, written, etc.), magazine placement (which may or may not pay), presenting and nominated for awards (and hopefully winning them too), hosting parties, and a bunch of other things.

For clients with no agent or manager, or who don’t have exclusive contracts, I can help them get work (mainstream and adult, depending on the client), but this isn’t my focus. There are many competent agents out there—when girls ask me who to go with I usually suggest three—ask me, and I might tell you whom they are. Agents take a percentage—I don’t, but I do charge a monthly fee. Agents have time to get on the phone and hustle up work for you (or the companies are calling them). If I do this, it takes time away from what I do best—getting your name out there.

Manager do just that—manage. They make sure you’re taking the right jobs and make sure you get there on time. As a publicist, I make sure you get to interviews, signings, trade shows, etc. on time, and I also remind you the day of about these types of things. I suggest that you be on time when working with the studios, directors and producers, because it’s professional—and even though we work in adult, it’s still important to be professional. If my clients want advice (or just my opinion) on a specific studio, director or performer, I can offer that, but managers specialize in this type of knowledge.

Although our company offers more services than most, we are by no means to be viewed as an assistant. We will go with you to meetings, but we won’t run errands for you. I will take your call at 2am (if I’m awake), but I won’t bail you out of jail. These are just a few examples. A godo way to think of it would be a publicist is her to help you, but is not a sidekick or go-for (going for this and that).

If you’d like to see a menu of some of the services we provide, go here: . No two clients are the same, and each one has different goals and needs. We have a specific plan of action tailored to each client. Performers and companies don’t all fit into one mold. Contact us and see what we can do for you.

    "Services:

The Rub PR is a full-service agency and that means we do it all. From going to meetings and auditions with you to getting you magazine placement, we do what we need to get your name out there and people talking about you. Here are some of our major services, but this is just the tip of the iceberg:

    • Branding and marketing
    • Social networking
    • Press releases
    • Interviews with Adult and mainstream websites, magazines and
     radio stations
    • Magazine placement in Adult and mainstream publications
    • Attaining Adult and mainstream work for our clients
    • Signings in retail stores and at tradeshows
    • Tradeshows: getting you ready and getting you there
    • Hosting parties
    • Red carpet events and presenting awards
    • Entering our clients and getting them nominated for all major
     award shows
    • Campaigns to get you winning awards once you're nominated
    • Attaining sponsors for clothing, toys and other merchandise
    • Toy lines through major manufacturers
    • Feature dancing gigs

That should kind of give you an idea of how to keep or drive a lot of traffic, depending on what you are looking to do.

it's possible that you're not "new" anymore. When you first start you are on the new model page. After a week or so you're not on the page anymore and it's kind of up to you.

Yeah, I imagine this is part of it for sure. But at the same time I spend a lot of time on the first page of the site so it's not like I'm invisible.

If you are on SM today was a really bad day on there. There was a special show they had on from 9-12AM PST. I looked into the other model rooms and even the front page girls had slow traffic and were getting no GOLD for Gold Shows. I hate trying for Gold Shows but I tried pulling them twice with no success.

I was having a discussion with another camgirl recently about how a lot of girls on the front page are on there but don't have the same traffic as girls on the second or third page.

I personally would tell people to add me as a favourite at the end of shows.

I am not in the front page of SM and I get pretty good traffic normally about 20 people averaging in my room in a 4 hr period. I don't do tita for gold or any nudity in free chat.

Its rigged. Every site is rigged so don't believe the site when they tell you its not. They do it to attract clientele, and put girls on top whom they think would be the most marketable for their brand image.

She works with nude models and porn primarily yeah. Many girls do both in order to promote their webcam persona and build a brand. PM me if you want webcam ones. Most want you to be exclusive to the cam site though.
