    Default $1,000 really?

So i've been on here alot and the general goal seems to be $1,000 a week. I've danced 7 years so that seems low to me. Now I don't expect to make the same as I do dancing camming but i live in a expensive area .I was wondering what would need to do to make more? Work more hours, or something else.Is this all girls really average?

Everyones average is different depending on thier own personal goals which is the key thing to remember. basically you start with camming see if you can get a regular pay check first at a certain amount lets say $500 and then see if you can increase you rates to get to a higher goal. for some peopel they might be making $1000 or more a week on different websites.

That can be average yes, but that is also putting in a lot of hours and a lot more effort than dancing. A lot of girls on this board don't even make that working full time, but some also make more working part time. You make WAY more money dancing the same number of days that you cam. At least that was my experience in cities where there is money to be made in clubs. A lot of cammers can't relocate to $$$ club areas, so camming is a better fit. A lot of cammers also cannot work nights, have young children, have chronic illnesses/injuries, cannot stick to working a club schedule, or can't even get hired in clubs.

Cam girl income is all over the place. If you have a widely marketable look and are willing to work, you can absolutely make more than 1k a week.

It's also different because unlike dancing, you have to pay (mostly) the majority of what you earn to the site so they can buy bandwidth/advertising/moar golden yachts.

It depends on which site(s) you're on and how well you market yourself. You can make what you want to make. It also depends on the market you target. Some will tell you what you can't make, but I think only you know what you are capable of making.

How much you make is up to you.
Dont expect to log on and have money thrown at you everytime. In a club the 90% of the guys are there to spend a fair amount of money, online only around 20% are there to spend, the rest are there to freeload.
Girls who $1000 is because they tried to make $1000, other's are happy with just enough to cover the bills / food / small luxuries and don't have the time to log on to make extras. Personally I make $1000 a fortnight and I can only work 6 hours day, 5 days a week because I have a child to look after and am a single parent, so the only time I can cam is when shes at school. IF I was able to work nights/evenings I would probably bank $1000 a week... But that would be with effort, nothing is easy (unless your a top model). If you work hard hard hard and strive to achieve top model status you will probs earn more than $1000 a week. Work hard and it'll pay off.

I'm going to guess that a dancer who is working a lot in a good club will make lots more than a cam girl. I'd think that the average camgirl net take per minute is between 1$ to 2.50$. A dancer doing a dance is usually getting 20$ per song (which is about 2-3 minutes). Assuming both the cam girl and dancer are "in show" the same amount of time, dancer makes more.

GlamourRouge has some excellent points up above. I'll just add to that with my own personal reasons

    Bad Reasons:
-I have terrible balance. Walking around on those heels I looked like a very sad baby giraffe with palsy
-My very first day as a stripper I walked in on a girl giving a custy a blowjob in the "semi-private" couches. For 50$! Seemed like 50$ was not enough money for a blowjob. Plus I knew if there was one dirty girl there could be more dirty girls (there were) which made it harder for me to make clean money and more likely we were going to get raided by the cops. Even tho I wasn't dirty I didn't want to waste my time in a police raid. Innocent ppl get convicted all the time.
-I'm hard of hearing. I'd say, "Hiya! I'm going to sit here with you a little bit. How are you?" and he'd say something that sounded like the adults in Charlie Brown. I have a hearing aid that I never wear and I had to start wearing it to work. For some reason, if the guys saw it, they seemed to assume that I was retarded. Oh sure, I guess hearing aid + southern accent = retard. My granny must be mental as hell.
-I immediately got tired of people touching me. I didn't realize how draining and annoying it is. Hell, I didn't even ever get a guy who tried to lick me or stick his dick in me and it was STILL annoying. Every night I came home exhausted.
-A personal pet peeve, people putting a dollar on the rail and then taking it back and putting it back up annoyed the fucking SHIT out of me. Management caught me pulling the dollars in toward the center of the stage as soon as the guys put them down (thanks for the tip SW) and I got yelled at so I had to stop.
-I'm a naturally paranoid person. It got so that I'd have these long, crazy routes to get home at night "in case" anyone was following me. Yes, like some guy is going to try and follow the retarded baby stripper home.

    Good Reasons:
-I can make my own hours. Got three hours free in the middle of a Sunday? Go for it!
-Nobody can touch me. I said that already, but it's worth mentioning again. In a related vein, can't hear them? Turn the volume up. Still can't hear them? Tell them the connection is bad and they're cutting out.
-I *can* set my own rates and decide what I feel I'm worth. Sure, they may not *pay* those rates, but there's no such thing as 2 for 1 dances.
-I can record my shows and put them up somewhere else to make money for me while I'm sleeping
-Voyeur cam. Why hello making 10$ while I was taking cookies out of the oven
-In my limited experience, camgirls are nicer than strippers. Nobody here has -to my face- made fun of me and it's impossible for another camgirl to steal my outfits. It's also unlikely she'll poach one of my regs.
-If I'm having a shit night I'm not stuck there. Similarly, if the gates of the red sea burst or if my mom needs my help or whatever. I can turn the cam off and leave any time.
-I can ban people who are shitty to me.
-I don't have to do as much makeup/hair.
-I could -but I don't- block people who live in my state from viewing me. It's a ton less likely that someone is going to run into me at the grocery store and freak the fuck out.
-I can sit down all day. Did I mention I was embarrassingly bad in stripper heels? Oh yes, I did.
-I can eat on cam. Management at the club I worked in said we couldn't eat on the floor so I was losing money any time I wanted a french fry or a powerbar. Here I may turn on some guy w/an eating fetish but I can at least snack.

Since I'm being entirely honest, I also add that the man creature is much more accepting of me being a "virtual stripper" than being a real life stripper.

Yeah same here. Quite frankly I am happy to cam and make $1,000 a week. Where I live, dancing at clubs "extras" are considered the standard and groping is also expected. Not only that but if I wanted to work at a high traffic busy club I would have to drive over an hour, and as you know it can snow/rain heavily up here and getting home on the highway late at night can be an issue. The one club (yes there is only one) in my area is a clean club, but generally low traffic and with customers who are like furniture (99% of the time they sit around nursing a beer and rarely buy dances). This club does pay the dancers, there are no house fees if you work 7 hrs, but the shift pay is only $60. They do this because they know how slow it can be at times and how the place is somewhat of an old folks home. $100 is an average night and $300 and you would be banking at that place! LOL. I remember one night a dancer friend of mine coming in to the dressing room screaming with excitement because she made $400, it was a Friday night and I think I pulled in something like $220 for myself. Yes at that club $400 on a Friday is something to be excited about.

So yeah I would much rather make my $1000 sitting in my warm home, car parked in the driveway, then say having to bust my ass for it at a club 80 kms away.

You could make more, might end up making less, but seems to me working from the comfort of my bedroom at any time day or night and not having to deal with customers in person (with all of the downsides talked about on this board) is a huge advantage.

Oh boy did I ever hate having to do my hair! I have long dreadlocks and because that "look" especially on an Asian woman isn't that popular in the clubs (they would not even hire me, they would tell me "cut that hair off") I would always have to wear a wig to work. I have a few different wigs and none of them are comfortable! They itch, make me sweat and have a hard time staying on. Not to mention the fact that I have to stuff my dreads in and they barely fit!

That's hilarious considering she is a stripper too (albeit online) and not only that, her work is on the internet permanently too.

It probably never occurred to her that she is pointing fingers right at herself too.

GlamourRouge has some excellent points up above. I'll just add to that with my own personal reasons
    I like Isobel's pros/cons! Here's mine:

    Stripping Cons:
    - My cab was followed home once & I didn't even notice until the cab driver started driving erratically a couple blocks away from my house & then I asked wtf and he told me
    - I'm assuming I was followed home another time because like 10 minutes after I got home around 3am, someone kept throwing shoes up at my window and it wasn't anyone I knew. I still, to this day, have no idea who they were. I didn't even recognize them
    - I physically could not adhere to a 3-day-per-week schedule that the clubs in my area require
    - I hated competing with the many girls in every club who wanted to fuck the customer for the same price or less as a VIP room... only they tried to get the customer outside the club so they didn't have to deal with forking over half their VIP room money to the club
    - The contact was annoying in many instances, but not always since some customers actually listen
    - I hated having to work nights and lose my Fris & Sats because those are money days
    - I hated having to stay the full 8 hours
    - I hated that I was wasting my time being at work if I had bad arthritis and didn't want to work
    - I hated being forced on stage if I had arthritis. Picture feeling like you're getting the flu, being weak, and having really sore inflammed muscles all over your body and then having to perform on stage
    - I hated never knowing how much of a ridiculous house fee they'd charge me at the end of the night depending on what mood the manager/dance tracker was in
    - I hated dealing with passive aggressive management/club employees
    - I hated some of the annoying customers. A lot of the other customers I really liked though
    - I hated being forced into drinking (drinking straight sugar juice is just as bad IMO) because customers wanted to spend money with "fun" girls
    - I hated having to fake the body language (the verbal acting was not so hard) by insinuating I wanted to date/hook up with the customers (which I don't want to obv lol)
    - I hated the cigarette smoke (not in all clubs obviously) since I'm allergic
    - I hated some of the coked-out, moody, drama-filled annoying dancers. In general though, I avoided them all, but that doesn't always happen because they do lie & make up fake coked-out delusions about you if they're jealous or dislike you for whatever reason
    - Extreme strictness on being very toned / weight (at upscale $$$ clubs at least)
    - Usually can't leave if the money is bad or if its slow
    - Uncertainty

    Stripping Pros:
    - The money is better in stripping... much, much, much better, if you go where the money is
    - I liked traveling (travel dancing)
    - I liked being in different atmospheres
    - I like the glamour, the costumes, the music (well depending on the club), the girls, the atmosphere (when travel dancing)
    - I liked meeting new people and learning new things
    - I liked the excitement
    - I liked the exercise/toning
    - I liked being able to take as much time off as I'd like without worrying about my online business (camming)

    Camming Cons:
    - Less money for the amount of work
    - Lots & lots of time on cam and off cam
    - Your stuff is on the internet forever
    - You will be found out by people you know. Often times they won't even tell you so this leads to extreme paranoia
    - Paranoia
    - Paranoia
    - Paranoia
    - Limits your future jobs. You can never work with children in any way for sure. Many businesses will fire you for no reason once they find out about your past (camming)
    - Much more hardcore than stripping
    - Much more boring
    - Easier to burnout since you can keep telling yourself "I'll log on later!" instead of being due in the club by a certain time
    - Harder to get & stay motivated
    - You have to continually log on & work or you will destroy your business
    - More exhausted quicker than stripping IMO

    Camming Pros:
    - Most flexible. You can log on whenever, wherever, for as long or short as you'd like. You don't have to work nights if you don't want to
    - You don't have to leave your house
    - Most creative. You can do things any way you please. Creativity is generally rewarded
    - Sole control of your own business, brand, and image
    - The option of passive income if you're willing to set things up properly to create it
    - You don't have to deal with someone over you being passive aggressive, mean, or weird
    - An excellent job if you're interested in entrepreneurship, marketing, film, graphic design, etc

So overall, I like the money and glamour of dancing, but I like the flexibility and brand-building of camming.

Camming is not my main source of income so I'm happy with making $1000 a month. I'm sure I can make more if I apply myself and put more hours into it.
It's my rent and shopping money.

some cities have now put restrictions on the clubs - ie.. no full nudity - stay 6 feet away from customer etcc... so the money is nowhere close to what it was - good girls are now doing more in the back rooms since they cant sell a lap dance or they are working on backpage - so not every club/area has the potential it used to

Some of us used to dance. I made the same amount of money dancing---but I worked a lot less. However, being able to work from home and more importantly, not having to physically fight off guys wandering hands makes it worth it to me.

Heyyyy! I saw an Asian girl w/dreads on SM the other day. I wonder if it was you. Sometime around last week and she was chatting w/the guys in her room about how she was perving on another model who had a bush bigger than hers. I thought she was really cute!

I used to work with a girl who said that her older sister (a stripper) made about $900 on a "bad night." I went to high school with her sister, and she was always a beautiful girl. I saw a recent picture of her, and she got gorgeous over the years.

I could never make 1000 a week dancing in my area. When I quit girls were happy to make 100 a night, and this was at high contact clubs. I really think it depends on where you're dancing, some areas and states are much better then others. I make more camming then I ever did dancing, and I was a pretty decent hustler

I haven't even started camming yet, but compared to escorting... I gotta say, the biggest appeal for me is there is NO TOUCHING ALLOWED (except by myself, lol)! Working from home is also a plus, and it just takes dedication to make it work and be that much more prosperous in other areas. Good luck to you, either way!
