Default How can I fit the gym into my normal fitness routine and martial arts?

I am going for energy and stamina somewhat the look and to lose weight. I am thinking I
can do my push ups, sit ups, stomach crunches, martial arts every other day and the gym
the days im not doing that. Monday home routine Tuesday gym Wednesday home routine
    thursday gym etc.
If you know a better way let me know?
What machines should I be using at the gym?
How do the professionals handle this?

Book an appointment with a personal trainer... tell them about your home routine and martial arts and they will design a program for you that works with your goals and routine. Ask if they have a nutritionist too because diet is actually more important than your fitness routine.

I was absolutely going to say what Jesse_tinydancer said. Most people need to eat better, not work out more. If I eat totally clean I can tell a difference in my body in as little as 5 days. Clean eating reduces water weight and inflammation which are factors in holding onto extra weight. You sound like you're on the right track though!
