Default What portable music player would you recommend?

I own an 8GB 2nd generation iPod Touch and so far, it has been a reliable music player.
However, I want to get myself a new portable music player and I was wondering what you
would recommend. I am open to all suggestions however, I want a portable music player that
is able to play FLAC (or any other lossless format) music files and that has the capacity
to hold A LOT of music.
Well, thank you for your time and I'll be looking forward to your responses!

There is not a software update to allow your Gen 2 Ipod to play the files you want?

The segment is owned by Apple. Go with the flow.

I have a Cowon J3 and LOVE it. Then again, internet connectivity and bluetooth aren't important to me. I'd rather have a separate device that makes music sound awesome than one device that has everything on it (personal preference).

The Cowon J3 has video and other shtuff as well. Battery life is insanely awesome. And it's tiny and pretty and I love it.

ETA: You can add a microSD or something to it that has extra space. My Cowon came with 16GB (I believe), and I plugged another 16GB into its external thingy (that's the technical term).
