Long story short - I used to have a pretty smile. It now looks awkward, due to my lip injections. Would you recommend hydraulinase or w/e it's called? I'll post pics later.

What did you get injected? Silicone? Juvaderm? Silicone fucks your lips up permanently because it migrates. I'm still in the process of getting mine removed as it turns out NOW that I'm allergic (as many are).
juvederm and restylane

Hmm I'm not sure then. Did it paralyze your lips? Or maybe you're allergic to it and it messed with nerves from excessive swelling? I'd say avoid it if you've already had problems. If you want to inject something, have your own fact injected, preferably stem cells if you want growth.

I had restylane injected into my lips once. I will never do it again. It got lumpy and looked like I had a cold sore. Ugggh..gross! Never, ever again!
I have juvederm in mine. I like it.
Here's the thing, about a week in I had to massage it in really really good. The doctor told me the lumps would naturally just go away, no.
I called another dr & he said he would massage the product in. I did it myself. It hurt like hell & took about an hour.
That was 6 months ago, they're still plenty plump.
I'll never get those butt injections I know that much.
I'm not sure hyaluronidase probably won't do anything if it's been this long, they use that pretty quickly to dissolve the product after someone who has had injections is unhappy with the results. It could be scar tissue. I have scar tissue built up in my lips from having the injections, but I actually like it. My lips are permanently fuller.
If you are unhappy, either get more injections to balance it out, or just massage massage massage really hard to break up the scar tissue. Taking 2000 iu of vitamin E for a while will help prevent your body from making fibrous scar tissue also.
You can't be allergic to Juvederm or Restylane, they are made from hyaluronic acid which is already in your body (eyes, joints). I've always been told they are basically 100% hypoallergenic. It's impossible that it paralyzed her lips or gave her nerve damage also. It's probably just unevenly dissipated product or scar tissue. Speaking of scar tissue, the fat injections with stem cells are MUCH lumpier than Juvederm or Restylane, or any filler. My mom has had facial fat transfer, brazilian butt lift, breast fat transfer, and it's way harder/lumpier, not near as smooth.

When your lip is fuller you just can't see as much of your teeth when you smile. I have a permanent vy procedure and my smile definitely doesn't look as tooothy as before. My mom harps on me all the time how she wishes I left my lips alone. It will go away just leave it alone.

i'm not sure what you mean by ha ruining your smile. juvederm and restylane should be metabolized completely by the body so any difference you feel is either psychological or scar tissue. if you are prone to scarring, i wouldn't suggest further injections.

So is the scar tissue visible and feel hard? This is what scares me from getting lip injections. I read that fat into the lips feel firm. I believe it. I have felt someone's butt who has had fat transfer and it feels firm & smooth, not bad...but that kind of firmness on the lips would be bad. Lips should feel like pillows.

you are putting a needle into your skin. the possibility of scarring is there, especially after multiple injections.
i wouldn't recommend anyone get fat in their lips. fat is unpredictable. the risk of uneven distribution is too high. and i can only imagine the bruising. why even bother?
my lips feel normal to me.

Back before fillers were around it was either fat or collagen. I had fat done 3 times before my vy procedure and my lips didn't feel hard. The only problem with fat is you look like crap for like a week an just when it starts to look good it's gone.
