Default F*%K Lelly Slubben, lets make our own non profit dedicated to helping all sex workers

I have been thinking, as insane as lelly shlubben (her new porn name) is, she has tried to create a non profit organization to "help" pornstars and sex workers. Alot of us stand united in the fact that her tactics and antics are in fact counter-productive to her cause. Key word being tried.

There is one smart thing she has done, which is start a non-profit with absolutely NO COMPETITORS! Unfortunately, from the looks of her statistics, she is failing at running a sucessful non-profit with the very low figures her cause has earned.

I think someone else can do much better..I think we can do much better, girls. I want to help others without such an emphasis on religion. I want to help others with an unbiased opinion. I am of sound mind and unlike lelly shlubben, I am aware that porn will always exist and putting effort into stopping an ever growing industry is in vain. I want to make the industry a safer place, and help girls who want to get out of the industry.

I have been looking to get out of the industry myself and have actively started seeking out employment but I know it is going to be a long hard road. At least I am trying. I have found there are absolutely NO rescources online for someone like me who is trying to get out, find a job, etc.

I have contacted SWOP the only other recourse I could find and they seemed dumbfounded that I was asking them if they had any recourses for girls who want to get out of the industry. They asked me..do you think we should offer resume writing and job assistance classes during our meetings? NO SHIT SHERLOCK! It seems swop focuses more on making a safer working environment and industry, not focusing on girls trying to get out of the industry.

There is a NEED for an organization that will help people truly leave the industry: help with housing, employment classes, self esteem building classes, connections to rehab facilities, etc. There is not one resource that I have found that offers anything like this to strippers, porn performers, camgirls, etc and there are sooo many people who need assistance with this.

I am thinking of starting an online support group for now, and working towards a non profit, but I will need help as I cannot tackle this alone. I will need the help of my peers. I will need the help of you wonderful ladies to put together recourses. If you are intrested please reply. I have nothing set in stone but I cannot do this alone. I am just seeing if there is anyone who would be intrested in a service like this or who would be intrsted in offering their advice/services, etc to a support group of this nature.

Lelly Shlubben has no competition as of this moment. If we cold make a non profit that does not use such terrible tactics, it could very well be a sucessful non profit, and there will be no more lelly shlubben and no more pink cross.

Years ago there was this one woman who was protested and claimed she wanted to help the dancers. I asked how she intended to help and she said get the dancers a minimum wage job. Um no, that is NOT the way to help someone leave the industry.

I have been looking into starting a non profit to help those in the adult industry leave. I would offer classes, including computer classes. I think it is something that is needed and not without judgement.

ms Lubben has even come to Canada, when she needs to stay out of Canada, we already have enough anti-sex work christian based groups here as it is and frankly her pyscho ass should stay in the USA.

I know there is Destinity House, I saw her documentary series once but she actually sounds like she has a plan of what she is doing and not trying to make porn the problem all the time and knows how to back off when someone is not interested in leaving the industry.

I do believe there needs to be a resource for people in the sex industry wanting a way out if they choose, but the common theme with these organizations at least the ones in my city which give me a huge migrain is that they right away go off judging and manipulation of making you feel like your doing something wrong by choosing to be in the sex industry in the first place. I am in transition to get out of the industry now but I can't even remotely think I can lean on a resouce that claims to help me out of it when right away they make it seem like I am a black sheep. so now I am going at it alone.

Well these are just a few of my ideas for how such an organization should be run:
    1. keep the focus as small as possible so it can be more effective. SL is too broad and preachy. "All sex workers" can be almost everyone. And traveling around giving talks doesn't help. Keep things small and scaled down. Be in a brick and mortar building so women can actually go to you, not just email or call and leave a message. Offer the service to women employed as dancers at nightclubs in a particular city, this narrows it down, makes the program easier to run and more manageable, and means you will be way more likely to actually reach women. Keep it centered. If the program becomes successful in one area (which can take 5 to 10 years) other people can use it as a model for their cities. I'm just thinking realistically.

    2. Job training needs to be tailored. Figure out maybe 10 areas to offer job training in. I think it's great to offer to help girls with jobs to get them out of the industry, but it needs to be something that the training is relatively short (under 3 years?) and can get them a job in the current economy right away. Many girls want to be doctors and lawyers but obviously that would be beyond the scope of a non-profit. Also something like freelance photographer, no, not enough security from the start. Offering to help women train in fields like dental hygen (sp?), or emt, massage therapy, hairdresser, idk... really i clearly need to research job fields myself. Do not insist women stop stripping right away, but maybe that they maintain a certain gpa, & that the last year of school they stop so they can intern. idk just thinking.

    3. Really not only would I leave religion out of it but leave all the emotional stuff out too. It might be a good idea to have a couple of counselors on staff available and to let women know when they fill out their paperwork that counseling is available for those who would like it, it's confidential and not mandatory for the program. And then just let it go at that. I think some women will want to use that service and some won't.

    4. Don't be an attn ho like SL & advertise what you're doing to the 99% of the world who don't need your services, lmao, that makes no sense, figure out a polite and kind way to let dancers know what you're doing. I'm not sure exactly how to do this. But I know it can be done.

Ok those are just my ideas....

one day i hope that i can volunteer for a cause like this or marry well and start my own.

seriously, a non profit without judgment that also helps with the mental health of sex workers is so needed.

This is what I am thinking:

As of NOW, I am currently looking to get out of adult industry as well, and I was flabbergasted by the lack of recourses. I think it is best to start small, and work toward a non-profit. A non profit will be alot of work and may not even be approved because of the relation to the adult industry..the non-profit will take time, and I do not have the time to devote as of this moment...a few months down the road when I get settled into a new job, another story.

For now I am thinking an online support group BY us for us, that includes recourses and volunteers willing to help others for free. For example, a counselor, a career counselor, a person who can help find housing, people who may be able to provide free housing to ex industry workers, drug counseling and the recourses to find free/affordable rehab facilities, etc. It will focus on the recovery from the industry and moving forward out of the industry. I am not saying that we all need mental help, but it is a recovery process and is difficult to transition. It can be a much easier transition if we all had support and recourses in one place. There will be information also on the dangers of the industry: not in a lelly slubben type of way, but informative articles to keep girls safe, sane and healthy. Ways to handle different situations in different aspects of the industry. The purpose of this is not to scare them away from our support group, or the adult industry, rather to help them make educated decisions about the industry which is the main problem with alot of girls who end up like lelly schlubben: they are uneducated and make poor decisions because they are uneducated.

It is going to take me some time but I will begin working on this as I can. There are also sooo many recourses on SW but I feel it is difficult to find them, becasue of the forum format. This will put many recourses in ONE place. I am currently looking to get out of the industry myself, and so many of you have been so supportive so I see there are people out there who WANT to help but maybe don't have a way to do so. I have always been fascinated with all of you..I have met some of the most intelligent and beautiful (both inside and out) women I have ever met in my entire life on this website. I cant make promises when this project will be done but I will work on it as I can. When I find a job I can relax a little but most of my time as of now is committed to working in camming until I find something else, and job hunting.

The counselors is a great idea but the problem I see is if the counselor has no sex industry experience they might judge those.

When I am out of the industry (2 more years and I am done), I plan on starting a non-prof for that purpose.

Honestly, I don't take issue with Lubben's approach (she can only work based on her own experience). She is helping people - even if we dont agree with the method.

What i don't like is the the religious, "God will only love you if you repent for being a filthy whore," approach. Why cant we walk away without feeling guilty?

GEMS is probably the most publicized (non-religious) organization regarding preventing and pulling people from sex work, but they only work with children.

What I want to do is create a transitional program that incorporates "the now" as well as the future. We all know its nearly impossible to go cold turkey, but it IS possible to get an idea what career you want by interning somewhere once a week, creating a budget/saving plan while still dancing. We all know shuttling someone to a minimum wage job wont help - we got into this business for money!

From curiousity, I googled "employment for former prostitutes" and got nothing but a few articles about the evils of the industry and some listings for shelters.

It's not about what you do for a living, it's about who you want to be.

    Ok girls
I am really passionate about this, have just been very busy, if you keep up with my posts, you know why...NONETHELESS.
I got the ball rolling. It is not much but it is here..I made a group for those intrested in exiting the adult industry. There are no members/posts yet. This is a group for all of us to share information about retiring from all aspects of the adult industry.

I will be working on starting some posts in my spare time (or lack thereof) soon. Anyone who is leaving/wants to leave/or has sucessfully left the industry is welcome to join!

I joined and this gave me an idea. I know it's religious but the local diocese is starting something like this and I am going to contact them. I can't tell them I was a stripper for obvious reasons but possibly could tell any women. So far they are just helping the streetwalkers but why not strippers?

RIGHT ON KELLY! Thank you for joining. Please add any recourses that relate to your local area. I am uncertain If I can make specific sub groups for information relating to specific states, so be sure to specify in the meantime. The recourses you offered me the other day were fantastic!

I think it's a great idea and maybe it can spread to other areas. It's good to help those in need.

I think offering investment advice is a good idea, to help working ladies to invest their earnings and build a nest egg, to finance their other career ideas
