    Default The tilted kilt

One is opening by me next month and they have open auditions this week. I applied online and I'm gonna go tomorrow.
anyone ever work/dine here? There are none in this area and never even heard of it till I saw the job posting online. From what I could make from reading online comments, the interview process includes trying on the uniform, as well as an actual one on one interview.

Anyone have any feedback, good or bad?

From what I've heard, it's basically Hooters with skirts. That may have just been in my area though.

I hear from a customer perspective it's fun and a good atmosphere, plus the skirts are cute.

Except the food is much better than Hooters. It's a fun place to go, good food and a good selection of beers. Outside of that it's just another chain resturant.

Well just got back from interview. MUCH more involved than my previous interviews for cocktail waitress positions. I met with the manager , really cool, had me fill an app out, even though I filled the same thing out online. Than I had to try on the uniform. Passed.Than a different manager asked me ten questions, all open ended. Than there were 4 role playing questions. I researched a lot of this online so kinda expected a lot of it. Anyway I'm hired. Orientation is in 2 weeks. They are still building, it's not open yet. Anyway seems like something that will make me some money, which is what I need right now. Kinda burnt out on the dance scene and office work is not gonna make me quick cash. What's funny is I get more nervous for regular job interviews than I do waitress ones.I hate role playing questions and behavioral/situational scenario type shit. But apparently I did ok.

My friend's girlfriend worked there and hated it. Said she made shit money and that you're also expected to sit down with the guys and hang out and whatnot. Haven't heard anything good other than from the customer perspective. Could just be the one around here, though. The management sucks.

Yea I have heard some bad management stories as well.... I'll think it over. Place is not even scheduled to open for a few weeks. So I have time. And yes u are expected to sit and chat, which makes me wonder how many tables I'll be waiting at once, if I'm expected to shoot the shit all the time?

The only sitting and chatting I've seen in the times I've been there is when you are taking the orders. And not every waitress will sit with every table. I've only been to the ones here in Phoenix, but this is where the place started.

I have one near me that opened up about 3 months ago. I go about once a week. The food is really good. I like the outfits. I've typically sat at the bar and there's generally two girls and one guy bartender. All are friendly and several address me by name.

The sitting and chatting is one of the 1st things that told me this place is a little different. Hooters girls will often pull up a bar stool and take an order. TK girls seem to to chill with the customers when they're not busy. You often see solo guys at a table for two with a TK girl, when she's not serving other customers or picking up drink and food orders.

I have worked at both Hooter's and Tilted Kilt.

They are looking for the bubbly girl next door thing. Knowing a little about beer really helps. In your interview if they ask you about your interaction with girls, imply that you get along well with every other girl.

Wear your makeup "fresh faced" and "youthful." No extremes, the hottest goth or punk girls would walk in and get turned away.Stick out your chest suck in your belly. Smile!!!

Don't look too serious. Ask yourself, what would Barbie do? If they ask you what would you do if there was a customer screaming at you? Another girl screaming at? Ect. . . Tell them you would smile and nod, and send over a manager.

You can bank there. As a bartender, it wasn't unusual for me to leave every single night with $150-$300. If you live near a major sports center or tourist trap, you can easily expect a $400-$500 night every 6 months or so. (ZERO contact and fully clothed) That is the reason I have never been able to work at a strip club; I don't have enough guts or self confidence to be a hot ass dancer, and the cocktail waitresses in my area make less than the average hooter's girl.

*Above info is for anyone else that isn't yet, and was wondering... LOL*

p.s. if you have the option to train as a bartender, take it. Girls at the bar make their own tips and get tipped out by waitresses.
