Better club, better conditions. You will have others to learn from in a better environment. Customers prefer nicer clubs (my type of custie anyway). No fear of theft. Def. better club.

I had been both: big fish in a dive and average dancer in a high end club. Personally, I like both but it all depend on my mood (if I'm burned out, if I want a change of pace, if I want closeness, or if I crave competition). Also, the only way I would ever attempt to be a big deal in a high end club is if I have been there for over three months, have established regulars and sell VIP/CR on constant basis. Otherwise, I'm just going to look stupid trying to be hot shit in a place I would barely know; so, whenever I work in high end clubs, I take my time to get established.

It depends on the earning potential of each club.

I worked at a small dive for a few weeks where I was usually one of three dancers and I was the only one who wasn't 200lbs, over 50 years old, or both. I was a superstar, and selling dances was easy, but we just didn't have a high volume of quality customers and no VIP so the earning potential was low.

Now, I work at a club that can run up to 70 or so super hot girls. I'm just another hot body. It's a little tougher to sell dances, but with a higher volume of quality customers and VIP the earning potential at the big, nice club is way higher!

I thought working at the dive would boost my confidence and be a good place to get my feet wet, but it wasn't until I went to work at the better club that my confidence went through the roof. Like... this is where I should be! This is what I deserve! I can finally say where I work without feeling embarrassed! lol Plus, 'getting my feet wet' at the "bad" club worked against me because my experience there formed bad habits (ie heavy grinding, letting guys touch me) that I had to break and learn to do things the right way.

Sometimes, I do miss the laid back, homelike feel of the smaller club. Or at least I thought I did. I stopped by there for lunch one afternoon, and I was like 'eww!' lmao

I prefer to be one of the hottest girls in club that is still not a dive if that makes sense.

Ive done both, one dive bar in the town where I live. I had a good couple of month then the "novelty" wore off and the $$ dropped. I worked bike week in Myrtle Beach one year and worked at the Pink Pony and did really well there. Guys were asking me why I wasn't at some of the top clubs, I told them because I don't stand out at those!

I worked at the diviest of dives in ny and recently tried 1 night at a top club in NYC. I have to say ill never go back to a big club and prefer my dive. The big club was huge with so many rules things to remember and a lott of girls. Like 1 girl said I too was just another hot body and didn't feel like I stood out bc evn tho I am a diamond, there I was a dime a dozen. Everything seemed so impersonal. The guys seemed so jaded like I had to jump through hoops to impress them.

I enjoy dives because it's a low hustle place for me, I really don't have to ask for dances and the money is constant for the most part. On top of that I'm usually the only black girl so that makes it even easier. When i get tapped out from the environment I will switch to a bigger club with more attractive girls and a better over all decor and drink selection. My customer base doesn't really change much except in the bigger clubs men want more bang for there buck as someone above me said. So I guess over all dives work better for me money wise but bigger clubs look better lol.

^I totally agree with every word you said, lol. High end club feel so...well, like you said, impersonal to me. Interestingly enough, I felt like everyone kindof blended in and the girl who ended up standing out was the 200 lb girl, lol--so it was redundant in a sense! At dive clubs I've always felt like more of a person, whereas at upscale clubs I always felt like another number. So for me, I would vote being a bigger fish at a dive is the better option.

Being a big fish in a small pond is good when you need a break from a big club. I started out in a big aggressive upscale club. I think that's good bc I never got intimidated. True that the more money the club has, the more guys expect. Once that money dies out in a "small pond" club, it's back to the big club.

I've always preferred dives. But for me, the biggest decision maker was the money. If I made more money at a bigger club, then off to the bigger club I go.

This is a great thread! i was exactly thinking about this..I really only worked in dives so I guess I'm kinda leery of going to a big place, but still wanting to try.

thanks everyone! the reason i ask is that ig back after popping out three kids, and my old club will take me back, but is a shithole (and i have to kiss major arse since the manager hates me). the better clubs are high hustle and better quality girls, so more competition.
at the dive i would often arrive with customers waiting for me (usually was booked for my first 2 hours at least before i even arrived at work) and was an easy 1k on a saturday arvo shift.
i know moneys not that great anymore, (i havent worked there for 5yrs) but i was oping it was still decent.
*sigh* at least i have a year to decide by the time i pop and get back in shape.

You could always try out the better club first, then if it's not living up to your expectations, go back to where you were before. I always find the better clubs have higher earning potential and also keep me motivated to constantly improve myself (both hustle and outfits/appearance, etc).
Some mistakes are too much fun to only make once.

I've been having this dilemna as well. I have been working in a dive for years and doing well, but the money is drying up for me because the customers are wanting more and becoming cheaper, thanks to the nasty girls there. The novelty of being "the hottest one" is wearing off because they are mostly looking for mileage. I don't want the dive club to drag me down with it so I am planning on leaving. Going to a nicer club will be humbling, but I will just have to suck it up and learn the hustle there.

If that doesn't work out I am considering traveling to other cities, as being a fresh face can be lucrative.

It really depends on what does it for you at the time -- your comfort level, how you feel about being at work, the sort of hustler you are.

Even earning potential isn't the be-all end-all of that decision. If you're stressed and unhappy, you won't go to work, and then it doesn't matter how much money you could've made.

I like to do both at the same time. That way I get a confidence boost at the dive and I am challenged at the bigger club so I don't get lazy. I think spending too much time in the dive can make you depressed. I got depressed and bored when I worked primarily in crappy places.

As of late I prefer dives. It's like a pastoral Utopia for me. Next to no competition, low hustle, and decent $$. I am a great white shark in a pond full of guppies. At a high end club I'm just another shark competing for a kill.

And even if I wanted to do a high end club in my area, my pinky toe couldn't get in. It's the only part of me that's skinny and not heavily tattooed.

After delivery, I'm so coming back to dance and depending on how much/little weight I put on I would either go to a high end club in Dallas or Houston (despite is going to be a good drive), or go to a smaller dive-ish in or around Austin.
