Default Ulta Haul Product reviews!

I had been long over do for some new make up and beauty products and ended up at Ulta since my local Sephora didn't carry a couple of the products I was after. Anyway thought I'd share.

I love Tarte http://www.ulta.com/tarte/ products and try to use all natural make up so this brand is great.

Lips Surgence Natural Lip Tint Got this in Lucky. Very pretty matte color, infused with peppermint. It lasts AND not overly drying.

Amazonian Clay 12 Hour Full Coverage Foundation
This is the FIRST foundation I have liked other than my HG Everyday minerals. I got it in Light and it blends perfectly, lasts, hydrating but not oily and it doesn't feel "masky." Its got great coverage but not heavy which is like one in a million! I had already been using Smooth Operator Illuminating Serum under my EM and love it. Gives me a nice dewy, healthy glow.

    Airbrush Finish Bamboo Foundation Brush
Used to apply the Amazonian Clay foundation and it really does give a beautiful application. Very soft and good quality. Very much worth it as I wouldn't get the same results without it.

Tarte Cheek Stain I already had Tipsy and just bought Dollface. Beautiful, blendable, realistic color! Never bearing powder blush again.

    Butter London Nail polish http://search.ulta.com/nav/brand/Butter%20London/0

Very pricey but the quality is better than OPI or Essie. I'm especially impressed with the base and top coat. I bought the gift set for $25 (reg $18 ea) and 2 days later, no chips and still shiny. Dries quick too!

Fake Bake Flawless Self-Tanning Liquid http://search.ulta.com/nav/brand/Fake%20Bake/0I am already a fan of the lotion but wanted to give this a shot. The color is great although not as brown as the lotion. It's still believable. I think the application is actually easier and I like using the mitt. It is less streaky and very even. Dries very quick and doesn't smell bad at all. No need for buffing after applying since you kind of buff it in with the mitt. I have 2 layers on so far and I'm hoping it wears and fades as well as the lotion.

I also got a Stella Mare oil diffuser in Sandalwood. Yum

I'm going to buy the Amazonian Clay foundation after I finish my other foundations.

This is a bit off topic, but I'm angry with Sephora. I just recieved a shipment from them today and I'm pretty sure the items were used. The bronzer/blush was completely broken and all over the place. It should have been sealed and it wasn't.

I would definitely call them! You may be able to return it to a store or exchange it. If not, send it BACK! I've never had a problem with Sephora, that's crazy.

Thanks; I thought it was crazy too. I'm going to the store today to return it. I've read a lot of stories about people receiving used items from Sephora, so I recommend only buying sealed products from there. If it's not sealed, then return it, because they don't always throw away returns. They try to re-sell them.

I like Sephora, but I heard the Ulta is good too, so I'll probably check out the Ulta near me.

I like Ulta. They carry things that Sephora does not plus they have a HUGE selection. I especially like that they carry more brands and drug store brands plus appliances. I've never had any problems with Ulta.

The Sephora stores I've been to have more items than Ulta, but I guess that is a regional thing. I prefer Sephora, but Ulta is a staple since I hate running from CVS to Walgreens to Rite Aid for drugstore products. F that.

I have been visiting Ulta a bit too much recently and wanted to add some products that I purchased and was very happy with.

First, Smashbox's Be Legendary lipstick. I bought it in two colors, Infrared and Electric Pink which are both matte shades. These are very bright colors so if they were cream (as in they go on glossy) it'd be too much for my skin tone. I have worn them to work the last couple nights and reapplied once but after drinks smoking and sucking so much dick for a few hours........ just kidding on the dick sucking part, I had to reapply after each one.... just kidding. No dick sucking. Anyways, I also wore the electric pink one to the beach today, I didn't just lay there I actually got in the water and played with my kiddo and swam and ate chips and drank tons of water, but when I got back to my car it was pretty faded but you could tell I had lipstick on but it wasn't a nice look. Still very happy with this lipstick.

I got UD's lipliner in gash to go with the Infrared Smashbox lipstick I got. I only use it because I'm Mexican and we got a thing for lip liner (you just feel naked without it), but I also wore the other lipstick (the electric pink one) today without lipliner and it looked fine. I think these lipliners are only okay. I have another one in a different color and it always gives me old lady wrinkles by seeping into small little creases on my lips. I would not recommend it, really. My lips are well defined as it is so unless you have no definition forget it and if you have no definition find a better lip liner.

I bought Smashbox's Jet Set Waterproof Eyeliner which I did not use until today when I went to the beach and after swimming and all I checked it when I got back in my car and it looked perfectly fine. This liner is a gel by the way, I applied it with a thin angled brush along my upper eye lid and it did not leave any traces either on my crease which my old Clinique gel liner used to do. Very happy and will be using this often.

I also bought Shashbox's Limitless eyeliner. It is supposed to be waterproof but I can't say if it is or isn't. I was wearing Maybelline Great Lash waterproof Mascara (also in black) and one of those two fuckers left some slight black smudging under my lash line. It was probably the mascara but I will have to test this out again with no mascara on to determine which of the two isn't water proof. But it goes on smoothly and has a convenient little sharpener on the cap.

Coverblend Concealing Treatment Makeup - This is the shizznet. I bruise very easily and I was reading someone's rant on here a few weeks ago about how they HATED seeing strippers with bruises and whatever. Plus a customer commented on my bruises so I picked this little puppy up. Love it. I got it in caramel and I saw my pink/purple bruises disappear before my eyes. Very easy to apply with the fingers, just in a circular motion and blending outwards. This stuff is water and sweat-proof so it stayed on all night. It felt odd when I came home and took a shower happened to run my hand over that spot on my shin and it felt almost rubbery, but it scrubbed off with dove and a sponge.

I got Dermablend for my face and everyone already knows how awesome it is so I'm not gonna review it again.

I also started using the Smashbox primer and it is WAY WAY WAY better than UD's de-slick primer. I might as well throw that shit out now.

I'll add that the ladies at Sephora gave me a sample of the Tarte Amazonian Clay Foundation, and it's the best foundation I've ever used. I've tried so many different foundations, and nothing compares. I'm definitely going to buy the full size.

The Ulta is right next to Sephora where I live, so next time I go to Sephora I might try to stop by Ulta too. I don't really buy drugstore makeup, which is why I've never really gone to Ulta, but I'd like to see how it compares to Sephora.
